A first-half scoring spree from Viorel Frunza and Levan Gvazava inspired Moldovan side FC Zimbru Chisinau to a 3-1 win against IFK Göteborg for one of the most eye-catching results from the first-leg matches in the UEFA Cup qualifying round.

tredowski, who knows? I suspect metros11 will be around more with the Euro qualifiers; Shurik I'm not sure of. He's been awfully busy, last I heard, and may have lost interest and/or been a bit disheartened with the BS charsh -- he had some excellent threads that took a long time to construct (Eastern European Fashion Review, Russian Premier League Guide) that are gone forever, it seems.

Yeah, Steve, could have been a LOT worse.....I like having the home leg last in this matchup.

CSKA Moscow gets Parma, Dinamo Tblisi gets Slovan Liberec, Zimbru gets Real Betis, Shaktar Donetsk gers Austria Wien, Metalurg Zaporizhzhya gets Leeds (ouch), Ventspils gets VfB Stuttgart, Metalurg Donetsk gets Werder Bremen, Suduva gets Celtic (ouch again), Gomel gets Schalke 04.

Shaktar should go through, I like CSKA's chances against Parma, Dinamo Tblisi has a good chance. Zimbru, of course, is this year's Hapoel Tel Aviv and will wax real Betis, and Zenit will clean up on the Swiss.
