Portugal gets a penalty against Poland in '70._94 an interesting handling. I'm curious what would people's thoughts be. Unfortunately no link yet, but will post if I find it

Bratislava v AC Milan had a Bratislava player get two yellows for dissent about 15 seconds apart. Crazy!

Was it a Spanish referee or do I need to look?

Early Leverkusen penalty is one of the worst decisions I've ever seen at this level.

Always nice seeing a referee not afraid to show a second yellow to a player when the first yellow was for dissent. Actions have consequences! Bravo, Kovacs.

yeah, the level of dissent it went way over the top...in a 3-2 match just totally a stupid move.

    It’s a classic MBB move.

  10. Is this really a penalty? From the 30 seconds mark.

Letexier having a fantastic game in Liverpool v Real Madrid. In the 69th minute, he puts on his sprinting shoes and gets there in time to see the penalty. Salah was driving the ball in the middle third and was turning inward before cutting right. Well done.

Just came to say this. This was a Liverpool counter attack from their own third and he gets to this position for a PK decision.

5:42 on the highlight package. I have a hard time understanding why Schnyder opted to play on at all here, if he had SFP without VAR.

Haven't seen it, but thoughts on Aston Villa's potential game-winner against Juventus being disallowed?

From the reports I've read, it's unclear whether the CR called the foul on the field, or whether he awarded the goal, after which the potential foul was flagged by the VAR, who then sent the CR to the monitor.

his whole game was spot on. Clinic in positioning, foul/no-foul recognition, player management…

do they have GLT in the Europa league?

AZ v Galatasary 44’ - header from Oshimen clearly crosses the line; referee points at his watch several times and signals no goal; then they go to VAR and the goal is properly given

Totally agree—I don’t think that was really a good advantage decision, even putting aside the higher standard when the R has a send off. Perhaps he initially only had yellow and got help from the AR to give the red?

My guess is his watch wasn’t working and this is what he was communicating to the players?

6:25, still do not see a PK here...never mind clear and obvious:

I'm seeing an absolutely nailed-on penalty. What am I missing? Like, how is that not a foul? He challenges from behind. Does not get anywhere near the ball. And physically impedes his opponent at thigh-level from shooting/reaching the ball. You'd play on at midfield for that?

Not really sure this meets clear and obvious error, what I saw is a slight clip of the heel and player falls from the very minimal contact.

    Look at Diaz’s thigh.

Ha. Sorry. I was so focused on the thigh, which I think is obvious in itself, that I missed the fact that he stepped on his other heel to the extent he knocked the boot off. This seems like two clear fouls for the price of one (I was initially wondering why the replays were focused on the timing that they were).

This all seems to surpass any standard for intervention.

Any thoughts on AC Milan's game-winner?

Not sure if it was enough for a VAR overrule (and the no-call on the field did stand), but it sure looked like an AC Milan attacker gave a pretty decent shove to one of the Red Star defenders, putting him on the ground and preventing him from playing the ball (which ended up going in off said defender).
