Unfortunately I think Man City is going to run a train on the Pride of the North and the Shame of the South.

I'll be happy with them getting past Zenit; as for the rest I'm not holding my breath.

They draw teams again. And I think its an unseeded draw.

so a club known for corruption, disrespect, thuggery, and tribalism is the "pride of the north"

and the Shame of the South?? the club that produces the nations best talent??

please learn to respect, and Sporting isnt of the south, it is of Portugal, it is of the world. we dont represent any location or region, we represent an Ideal.

It's obvious you failed high school because your reading comprehension blows, not to mention your ability to write in complete sentences. Let's attribute that to a bad gene pool and inbreeding.

Respect, you wouldn't know what respect was even if your dad beat you with a dictionary.

What's this Ídeal' that Sportem represents?

    Let me see...hmmmm

Would be a travesty if benfica didnt make it to the quarter-finals.

It is a relief for Benfica, but not good for the National Team. Only true "10" we had. Pretty serious injury, he's out for 8 months. Best wises in your recovery.

True "10"? Isn't he most definitely a winger?

Really bad news. Benfica could have delt with him but he will be greatly missed in Ukraine and Poland

He always played winger for us with a few outliner games. For Zenit he plays right in the hold infront of the DM behind the striker. Thats where he was most effective.

It sucks we are losing him, great squad player. Hopefully, like I said, this allows Varela, Barbosa, and some others a chance to make an impact.

Might open up a spot for Yannick. That is if he gets in good form in time.

When he is roaming, yes. From the Zenit matches I've seen (not that many) he's mainly stationed, however, on the left, cutting inside.

Anyway, playing behind the striker isn't what I'd call a true 10, that's it...

Nitpicking aside, it'll probably be a contest between Vieirinha and Yannick, as Benfica4Life said, to take his place

I want Yannick to be there, but I don't think hes anywhere near NT ready right now. He hasn't played for 6 months, and he not in the starting lineup yet for Benfica. But heres hoping. I much rather Djalo compared to Quaresma.

    Possible Quarterfinal Opponents:

    Barcelona
    Real Madrid
    AC Milan
    Bayern Munich
    Chelsea
    Marseille
    Apoel

Marseille and Apoel being best case cenario. Wouldn't mind Chelsea (would actually like to face David Luiz and Ramires). The rest are death. Barca, Real and Bayern are nightmares. AC would be interesting.

Sign me up for Marseille or APOEL.

Not afraid of Chelsea or Milan.

Stay as far away from Bayern, Barcelona and Madrid as possible

Im actually ok with Bayern too. Something tells me that Barcelona and Real are going to be matched up this next round.

Bayern scares me. When they click they can't be stopped. They are/have been my favorites to win CL
