If this isn't offside, I don't understand the rule anymore. He was off, it hit a Sporting player, wasn't a deliberate attempt to play the ball. The final last year defined this, bullshit
Thank you. That was clear as day, don't know why it took so long. He was off, it came off a sporting player with no intent to play the ball, He's offside. First time in a while we've had the rules played correctly for us
That's what VAR is for. Riding our luck til the end. What an ending. You just knew that was the most Sporting thing ever allowing that last second goal.
Spurs - 8 pts Sporting - 7 pts Frankfurt - 7 pts Marseille - 6 pts A draw is actually enough I believe to qualify. Since we have advantage head to head with Frankfurt and Spurs, a draw would keep us ahead of Frankfurt and any combination of results in the other game would keep us 2nd. Of course, a win could get us 1st place if Spurs don't win, and we should always think about winning especially at home.
We control our destiny going into the last game. It was important to get a result today after we gifted marseille two wins with red cards and penalties
I’m not up on the youth players like most of you guys are. After seeing them play yesterday and I gotta say that Arthur looked exciting. Can someone give me a brief breakdown of how these guys stack up in terms of talent?
Arthur is 24 and came from Estoril this summer. He was our deadline day signing when everyone expected/wanted a striker we got the 1938375th winger at the club. But in terms of the other players that came on. Mateus Fernandes is a midfielder who right now is probably closest to being ready and in fact will likely start today in the league to replace the injured Morita. Fatawu is who I'm most excited for though. He came this season from Africa and is already a Ghana senior international, might even feature against Portugal at the world cup. Has a cannon of a left foot just needs to improve decision making (normal for a young player)
great, thanks for the info. My bad on Arthur, forgot he came this summer. Looked like another youngster out that’s to me.
SPORTING: Adán; St. Juste, Coates, Gonçalo Inácio; Pedro Porro, Ugarte, Pote, Nuno Santos; Arthur, Edwards, Paulinho Subs: Israel, Matheus Reis, Alexandropoulos, Rochinha, Francisco Trincão, Fatawu Issahaku, Ricardo Esgaio, José Marsà, Flávio Nazinho, Jovane Cabral, Mateus, Dário Essugo EINTRACHT FRANKFURT: Trapp; Tuta, Jakic, N'Dicka; Dina Ebimbe, Sow, Kamada, Pellegrini; Lindstrøm, Götze, Kolo Muani Subs: Grahl, Ramaj, Onguéné, Smolcic, Alidou, Rode, Borré, Alario, Chandler, Knauff
The amount of income that depends upon this game from prize money is huge. Everyone keeps talking about the league being over, but we need to keep qualifying for the CL to have any hope of progress
Adan makes up for all the Marsielle shit with a great save with Paulinho nearly scoring an own goal.... After putting them under panicked pressure it's flipped. This is going to be a bloody stressful match, but we HAVE to score first
Adan is looking nervous out there. In the commentators words “Sporting do have a self destruct button, and the finger is hovering over it”
Looks like Nuno Santos has done his ankle, rolled it badly. Big loss in reality as he adds a lot on the attacking side. Don't see how he can keep going
