Looks like Jobe is off to the Club World Cup.

Germany have a player who started in both of their competitive senior games but is still going to the U21 Euro. The equivalent would be us taking someone like Morgan Rogers.

After watching that shitshow the other day I really think we have missed an opportunity. Rogers and Lewis-Skelly will never play an U21 Euro and for what?

Not forgetting the loss of a key option like Trafford that is not truly involved with the senior team yet.

I can understand Madueke and Palmer etc but the logic for the others after the way they have been used by Tuchel is very frustrating.

You add Trafford, Lewis-Skelly and Rogers and we instantly become serious contenders again, alas they'll play a combined 120 odds minutes against Andorra and Senegal.

You could throw in Colwill aswell considering the way he’s being used but at least with him he had his U21 Euro. The reason Trafford is so different is because 1.) he’s not really a PL player yet and 2.) he is so much more important to the overall team compared to the other keepers.

Those type of players never come back though. Think that was discussed a bit ago. Same with Sancho last time.

Yes but it seams pointless not to unless he was asked and said no. I think hes still eligable for the next cycle as well. Hes probably going to struggle to get back in the seniors if Man Utds form doesn't pick up next season.

It's true, we had this very same discussion regarding Sancho before the last U21 Euros. Is it more beneficial for Mainoo to get a full pre-season in under Amorin, build some bridges and try and salvage his United career? Or should he prove his worth on the European stage and come back full of confidence as a result? I'd like to see him with the U21s, l must admit.

Sancho didn't go to the 21s, had a pre Season and immediately fell out with Ten Hag and was exiled for 6 months, hopefully works out slightly better for Mainoo!

It’s deemed too much of a demotion to bring players back down if they’ve had a significant impact with the seniors. I would have tried to take both players but it just rarely happens for most teams. When it does it doesn’t always work either.

I don’t even think they are slow anymore, it’s more a deliberate ploy just to keep it to themselves until the last minute, you know just to keep the Czechs in the dark.

France - Portugal should be a good game later, think Group C could be quite interesting with Georgia too who did quite well a couple of years ago

Hopefully Carsley goes for something along the lines of this team

    Beadle
    Livramento Quansah Creswell Illing Jr

    Hackney McAtee Hinshelwood

    Nwaneri Elliot Rowe

But in all honesty could be anything!

Former England youth Mateo Joseph starts for Spain U21. I wonder after the season he has had would he start for ourselves?

Touch and go you'd say, he's got a worse record than Dane Scarlett in terms of goals per 90 in a much better team. But with all these injuries and withdrawals he probably would.
