They are a great team that sadly never won anything..... Unless you count their UEFA Intertoto Cup win in 2000......
Why? I think they have a bright future. They have a lot of good young pieces (they always do). If they do not sell anyone this summer they should contend for a Europa League spot.
They seem to always come through and find great young players but then they keep selling them off. Off the top of my head, there have been great players who played for the club.. . Abel Balbo,Néstor Sensini, Roberto Sosa, Stefano Fiore, Alexis Sánchez, Juan Cuadrado, Oliver Bierhoff, Marek Jankulovski and Cristián Zapata.....to name a few.....
They've had major sales after qualifying for the CL. Not only is that a slap in the face to their fan base but it has hurt the coefficient for the Serie A. Here's some players they've sold prior to the CL that they've qualified for. Alexis Sanchez, Pizzaro, Isla, Jankulovski and Handanovic. Just players I can remember right now. 3 times they've qualified, 3 times they've had a fire sale. Total disrespect for their fans.
