UConn vs St Johns [R]

  1. UConn vs St Johns

St Johns finally showed why they deserve to be among the nations best.

    UConn 0
    St Johns 1

The lone goal was scored off a PK when a UConn defender handeled a clear goal. St Johns had many other good chances on goal in a good game.

    Re: UConn vs St Johns

I already believed they are a top 5 team and I think they have proved it throughtout the season. The big question is will they score enough goals to beat the other top teams? If they fall behind they don't seem to have enough attack to come back. That said, their defense is so good they seem to never fall behind. I think they will be one of the top four region seeds in the NCAA's.

Wish I knew you were at the game Jerry. I was sitting near the pack of Jamaican UCONN fans.

I was very impressed with the stadium, though it would have been nice to see real grass.

St. Johns took control in the second half.

Thought Damani Ralph (UCONN) was fantastic. The Johnnies backline looked solid. Hope some of these players might get a chance with the Metros.

and the baby complained until UCONN almost forced the ref to call the game...it was cool to scream "the ref beats his husband!!" and we need a rope, a tree, to hang the referee!!" again...

  6. Damn those Johnny hooligans..... We got a clap from Adam (the GK) last nite after the game. In the earlier game, we got a finger from the Adelphi keeper for nothing. We're almost famous ;)

I think this clinches the Big East regular season title for St. John's, and any team with as tough a defense as they have has got to be a favorite to go far in the conference and NCAA tournaments. And the freshman better learn to handle adversity, 'cause that's what road matches are like with the hostile supporters and all. Of course, you guys at St. John's just figured out what we UConn supporters have been doing for decades. Fun, ain't it? Can't wait for the rematch.

Any UConn folks know why the game wasn't on WHUS? Biggest game of the year and they're playing that crap music no one likes anyway.

I was waiting for Shurman to pull a Cantona and run in and drop-kick someone in the stands

Not sure why it wasn't on WHUS. I was hoping it would be. I was hoping even more that it would be on the YES network. I was sick as a dog and couldn't go.

Probably couldn't afford to preempt "Acid Folk World Music Revue."
