******** sake we are so mentally weak. We are the most vulnerable right after we score or after our opponents score. No killer instinct or bounce back in the team. Just soft.
Onana with another nightmare. Giveaway that leads to a penalty and Casemiro red. FFS wasn't he supposed to be great with his feet and distribution? Because he's been horrific in every way so far.
Thankfully Icardi chokes, but still down a man with 15 or so left. We can't even keep teams out with 11 men.
Hahaha that took no time at all. How has our defense become this laughably bad in one season? Lindelof again not attacking the ball and being a little bitch and Varane sleeping. Was Martinez really that good last season that he held this whole thing together?
That was an absolute shocker from Onana. Not good on the goal either. Maybe we now know why Erik has two goalkeepers on the bench ... We have managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
5 defeats in 7 games ... We don't have a defence capable in the Premier League, so not really a surprise that it cant (and wont) cut it in the Champions League.
the most annoying thing for me was the celebrations after the penalty miss as if we didn't just pay a high and unnecessary price in losing Casemiro and as if we held on to a favourable result at 2-2
Agree. If the defence held up its end of the bargain all the post-game comments by the pundits and the media would be about Hojlunds game today. Had the ball in the net three times albeit one was correctly given offside, but loved aspects of all three; - keeping pace with Rash on a break and the determination to get the header for the first is not something we have seen from a striker in a long, long time - the pace, run, strength and dink for the finish for the second was class - the offside goal finish was proceeded by a cool feint to make space and throw the defender off Pace, power, heading, finishing, directness, strength, determination - the kid has all the attributes to be an Old Trafford favourite. We just need to not keep spoiling it by doing the wrong things at the other end.
Was stuck in meetings all day so missed this. At least now I won't have to worry about re-upping my Paramount+ subscription when my 1 month free trial ends in a few weeks....
Terrible. The problem starts at the top and rolls downhill. Glazers, coach, most players…good lord, sad to watch this once mighty club just collapse.
I saw bits and pieces between Napoli-Real. I see a lot of comments about Onana, but Amrabat's give away caught us out on the third goal. It's not his strength to play passes forward like that. He's good at recycling the ball. Varane, Lindelof and Onana didn't drape themselves in glory. I think Hoddle was right to critique Onana for going down too soon, but it was always asking something special from him to stop a chance like that. These giveaways were something I saw over and over in the past two matchdays. Di Lorenzo, Marquinhos, etc, all made similar giveaways to the ones Amrabat and Onana gave.
