    Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Iraq, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Jordan, Libya, Algeria, Kuwait, Syria (2) (Stage 1)
    Group 1-4 (4 teams per group)

    we have strong teams like, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Iraq and Jordan from Asia
    and Morocco, Egypt, Tunisisa and Algeria from Africa

    The preliminary qualifying round for the 2009 Arab Union Football Association (UAFA) Arab Nations Cup will start December 12th. Eight countries, divided in two groups, will take part in the first phase. Mauritania is placed in the second group, along with Lebanon, Sudan, and Somalia. The matches will be played in Beirut between December 12th and 27th. The first group includes the Comoro Islands, Djibouti, Palestine and Yemen. They will play in Sana'a between December 12th and December 20th. The Arab nations that rank between 17th and 22nd on the top Arab nations' list issued by the FIFA are playing in the preliminary qualifying round. (FAF)

    Matches in Lebanon postponed about a week. First match will be from 21 December ; Somalia- Sudan.

    Any news about the matches thats supposed to start today in Yemen ?

    The big match between Comoros and Djibouti was played yesterday , still waiting for result.

    Last match will be on Dec 20 between Djibouti and Yemen.

    A great win for Comoros , the first since they become member of FIFA :)

    Yemen should qualify to next round easy beating Djibouti in last match.

    Hello.
    I find the information about Arab Nations Cup 2009 at http://jason.soffe.free.fr/africa/uafaarabcup/2009q.html

    I knew Syria would paticipate in 2nd round but there is no Syria in that site and Yemen and Comoros will go to 2nd round..

    I don't think. I think Yemen will only go to 2nd round..
    I can't find any other information about Syria...

    Please help me.
    What is the truth??
