Local media reported on Saturday evening that the country’s union will meet on Monday morning to decide on the future of the experienced coach. The UAE Football Association is led by and advised by a specially created committee. This group of people came to the difficult conclusion that they could not continue with Van Marwijk at the helm. Abdul Aziz Al Yasi at the top of the committee’s wish list to succeed the national coach.
He lost from two tittle contenders Al Nasr & Shabab Al Ahl they decided to bring Olăroiu Cosmin, but he is still not yet announced as Marwijk replacement, only the National Teams committee has resigned maybe its about time they should use remaining games to build a new team we are not going to qualify anyways. The Monday meeting headlines: Accepting the resignation of the head of the UAE National Teams Committee… and postponing the fate of Marvik The UAE Federation accepts the resignation of the National Teams Committee and forms a new committee Three scenarios to resolve Marvik’s fate at the Football Association meeting The UAE Federation postpones resolving Marvik’s fate and accepts Al-Sahlawi’s resignation The Football Association will discuss tomorrow the fate of the “teams” and Marvik
I think that the FA shouldn't take any hasty decision since UAE qualification at World Cup is equally balanced. The Team lost in many matches because of players' individual mistakes which no coach on earth can control. The team lost heavily against Qatar due to players mistakes and crowd pressure but had more of a ball possession where only lacking point was link between mid-fielders and forwards and any creative movement. Suggest UAE to still keep hope and let Marvik continue for another 2 games at least and see where the team goes from there. The players are also to take responsibility for low showing. BTW, where's Tariq Ahmad & Al Amouri? Both players should be in the team to control the mid-field which is the missing link, while defenders should stop making silly mistakes.
where's Tariq Ahmad & Al Amouri? Tariq Ahmed is with Al Nasr has not been starting consistently with their new coach he been playing all foreigners midfield, while Amouri made his return to from injury 3 or 4 weeks ago against Al Nasr and was almost injured again by non other than Tariq Ahmed IMO some one like Majed Hassan is what we are missing Ali Salmeen can't play holding midfield he docent play that role with Al Wasl and when he dose they lose he hasn't been as good as he used to be, BVM could've tried Majed Rashed at least in one of the group games he outshined Ali Saleh in the U23 WAFF comp. he youngsters Tahnoon and Ali Saleh are the best two players in this recent tournament while the old vets made embarrassing rookie mistake "Muhanad" why do you call someone that his own club just got rid of him even he was surprised to be called.

Al Jazira crowned UAE Super Cup champions for first time Al Jazira claimed the first-ever UAE Super Cup title after defeating Shabab AlAhli 5-3 on penalities. Mohammad Juma Eid put Shabab AlAhli in control after 64 minutes when he was sent through on goal by Abdalla Ali Hassan before lobbing the ball over the keeper. Shabab AlAhli had looked set to lift the trophy after taking the lead in the 64th minute, but Abdalla Ramadan's 88-minute equalizer sent the game to spot-kicks. Ramadan scored the equalizer when Joao Victor Santos Sa made a brilliant pass to the 23-year-old forward, who picked his spot and made it 1-1. Al Jazira then prevailed on penalties to claim their first-ever Super Cup trophy, after Shabab AlAhli midfielder Abdalla Ali Hassan missed the fourth penalty. Shabab AlAhli started the game so fiercely as early as after only seven minutes Harib Abdalla Suhail had the chance to give his side the lead but his effort was denied by goalkeeper Ali Khaseif on its way to the net. Sixteen minutes later, Yahya AlGhassani came close to giving the advantage again for Shabab AlAhli after firing a left-foot shot from a very close range denied by Khaseif. Al Jazira made their first attempt in the game after 35 minutes when M Hammed Rabii unleashed a powerful shot from the outside of the box, but his ball went beside the left bar. Two minutes after the break, forward Mohammad Juma Eid came close to giving the advantage for Shabab AlAhli, but his shot was saved by Khaseif.
