Now as a Nole fan, I'm happy 3 will be representing. Nighswonger, Howell and Pavlisko.
I looked at the list and saw lots of players not on the team, that made me go ?whuttt?

Do the NT coaches routinely try to get new blood into the team?
Are some of the top players refusing the opportunity?
Is it just an expected rotation of many of the better players?

For me Howell absolutely deserves to be on that team. Stud holding MFer.
Pavlisko was a lightly recruited Left Back for us, who did remarkably well for us as a true Fr.
I expect her sophmore year to be even better. That said, she's not better than Julia Ashley.
    Where is JA?
Nighswonger is an incoming freshman, so I can't comment. I just don't know.

At GK, where in the heck is Kaylie Collins, or even Leshnak?
Nothing against Ivory or McGlynn (Like Pavlisko), they are just not the best at that position.

At FSU, we've never had 3 domestic players in the U23 to my knowledge. I'm just looking for
    insight into how it's chosen.
As a Nole fan, I'd have chosen Malia Berkely before KP.

ps If KP's parents/friends look at this, don't think I don't love her and her game, b/c I do.
We are lucky to have her at FSU. I'm trying to be objective in saying I'm surprised at her choice
b/c there are a lot of studs out there.

clearly I get your allegiances, but doe sin not concern you that players like Nishwonger or Bell are selected at U23 level ahead of all the eligible College players ? Does it not cause you to question the basis for selection?

    Yes and No.
That is why I asked the question.
FSU has never been so well represented IMO.
I've heard from a parent (nameless) of a U23 caliber player, that
she was offered, but had schedule conflicts.
I'm not sure Pavlisko is a great choice, but as a Nole fan, I'm excited she
gets to experience that level of competition. She and we will be better for it.
As to Nighswonger, I have no idea if she is good enough to be there.
I read elsewhere that both she and Howell started their first friendly.

If she's good enough to warrant this call up, I'm OK with it. If not, not so much.

I absolutely believe Howell is a great and getting better holding (defensive) midfielder. Great choice IMO.
I'm guessing people like Julia Ashley weren't available due to conflicts, b/c she
    absolutely belongs. (as do others)

While I'm unsure as to Pavlisko's call up, I would be absolutely happy if Malia Berkely had been called up.
She has some past call ups before her injury year (redshirt in 17).
IMO, she would be most worthy of a U23 call up.
To be fair, I'm sure there are others.
I would definitely take Malia over Naomi Girma for instance.
She brings an offensive skill set that not many center backs bring. Additionally she brings a physical and athletic presence in the back.

Does anyone know where I can get more info about the U23 WNT games?
I find info very hard to come by.
