Summers will be showing ALL of the games of this tournament. The US games are on 2/3, 2/5 & 2/7 at 9 pm ET. These games are not on regular tv so there will be a cover charge $10.

That's a pretty short time period for 3 games!

What stations are these games on? Galavision like the U-20 WC?

They are on closed circuit TV, so they won't be on Galavision or any other over-the-air or cable channel.

If this is because he's wearing Parma gear, I'll be sure to show up in my Parma jersey.

Great, Summers is going to be packed with jacknuts in Parma gear!

The whole tournament goes from 2/2-2/12 (see the bottom of this article for complete sched) http://www.ussoccer.com/news/fullstory.sps?iNewsid=51613&itype=113&iCategoryID=0

And like I said Joe will have ALL of the games, not just the US (and if you watch 2 games it's $10 for both).

    USA, USA!

9-11 pm is a bit insane as two games are on weekdays, but I guess I should try to make it to at least one ....... it's a good 45 minutes from my house. If nothing else, I'll catch the Honduras game on Sat.
You know how we have a "Chelsea Tim" - can we have a "Parma Sean"?

Summers May Not Have U23 games

I was at Summers today and they said they may not have the U23 games after all. The owner guy said he was still negotiating with the company, which he called the Colombian Mafia, to bring down the price for the entire package. They want 6,000 bucks and he's not willing to spend that, which would mean charging people $20 a game. He said he would know by 5 pm on Monday whether or not he'll have the games.

This will be a huge letdown to many of us if Summers doesn't get the games. Does anyone know of a Latino pub in the area that may be carrying them?

I spoke with Joe on Friday afternoon and he told me that they would be getting these games. With closed circuit matches he often waits as along as possible to see if he can get a cheaper deal on feeds (I know, not helpful for you the customer) but in the end he gets them (I can't recall a time he hasn't). It would probably help if people called and asked about these games to show interest. I'll touch base with him on Monday afternoon and see what's up.

I just spoke with Joe (Monday afternoon) and as of right now he is not showing the games. The mafia wants to much money for them. He is still negotiating, but a spanish place in tysons has the package and will be pissed if Joe gets a better deal. He said to check back tomorrow.

What's the name/location of this Spanish place?

I just talked to Summers and they said still don't know and to call back tomorrow afternoon.

I just spoke to Circuito Cerrado and they confirmed that the only US first round game that they are televising will be USA-Honduras on Saturday.

The following No. VA bars will carry the games:

    Las Vegas (703) 660-8800
    La Perla (703) 798-9143
    Maxwell's (703) 335-9623
    La Hacienda (703) 866-0205

Still waiting to see if Summers buys the package, but I really doubt it since USA games are only one.

Of course, if US makes it to semis and finals, those games will be shown.

Anyone know anything about these places?
Where they are, what they might charge as a cover (if any)?

So, are these places showing all the qualifying games, or are they just showing the game on Saturday night between the USA and Honduras?

To be quite honest, I'm suprised Joe isn't getting this done.. He always gets a real good turnout when the USA is involved, especially when there is no other outlet available..

I sure hope during the day that someone can come up with these matches for us to watch..

Remember that he's got the African Nations Cup replays at night right now, and he's always been a bit hesitant about showing other games when he's got the international tournaments.

OK, as indicated in the above post by Parmigiano (reading is fundamental, folks) it seems the only game the satellite company is going to show with the US is the Saturday one with Honduras (this might explain why Joe isn't buying the package when 2 of the US games, where people might actually come to Summers, are not included). Now I guess if the US advances those games would be shown. Here's the link to the schedule at Circuito Cerrado:http://www.circuitocerrado.com/index.htm

I also saw this in another thread: For Spanish speakers, the game with be broadcast on internet radio through RPC Radio in Panama, 9 Eastern/8pm Central. www.rpcradio.com
    Then click "Señal en Vivo"

So you can do this, follow the matchtracker at ussoccer.com and chat with people: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=94579

So, now that we know that Joe won't get any of the early matches, do we know for sure if Summers is televising Saturday's matchup with Honduras?

I called Summer's around noon and asked about tonight's game and the response was "we don't know, call back after 4."

I just called Summers, and the person who answered the phone (not Joe) said they are not carrying the Olympic Qualifiers tonight.

She said "no one is broadcasting tonight's games".

I guess that still might leave some hope for the Honduras game. It may depend on the opening match results to see the importance of game three of the group, as to if Joe is willing to spend and think he can make his money back on the saturday games and the second stage next Tuesday and Thursday.
