England have just taken the lead with 5 mins to go. Both teams have had a player sent off, and Germany missed a pen in the 1st half. Walcott took his goal really well - NRC has been OK, busy and hustling without ever bossing the midfield. However the star has been Anton, especially 2nd half, he's repelled everything that the Germans have thrown at us.

Only hope that this positive outcome will galvanise them into a massive performance against Pompey. Oh and NRC nearly scored before the end but denied by the goalie.

P.S. OK I went too early - Walcott has just made it 2-0, he is a star.

Reo-Coker is a badass...I wouldn't mind Fergie shelling out the pounds for him.

How does Germany's Eugen Polanski look?

Polanski was arguably Germany's best player tonight, but Germany outplayed us for long periods of this game. England seemed happy to contain and try and get something on the break, but it could easily have backfired. Still we've had enuff bad luck against them over the years, so it's about time we had the run of the ball for a change.
