U21 Euro Qualfying

The Swiss U21 team plays Georgia in qualfying today also. The game must be a double-header with the big boys. Here are the current standings:

A win today could bring them within two points of Russia. The Swiss have beaten Ireland and Georgia, and tied Albania. The upcoming games for Switzerland are big if they want to catch Russia.

 

Nice job! With 10 points, Russia and Switzerland have seperated themselves from everyone else.

The Swiss team imposed themselves, wednesday, in Georgia (0-2). The Helvetican Goals were scored by the Lucernois André Muff (33e) and the Zurichois Alain Nef (40e).

Thanks to this success, the Swiss U-21 team is two points behind Russia (4 matches, 10 points). The two teams play 6 June 2003 in Fribourg.

29 April 2003- Italy at Neuchatel (Friendly)
6 June 2003 - Russia at Fribourg (Euro Qualifier)
10 June 2003 - Albania at La Chaux-de-Fonds (Euro Qualifier)

Those two qualfying games could be huge. Six point would allow them to pass Russia and claim the top spot.
