Figure it's worth a dedicated match thread, given the occasion and the referee.

    Referee: Ismail ELFATH (USA)
    AR1: Kyle ATKINS (USA)
    AR2: Corey PARKER (USA)
    Fourth Official: Abdelkader ZITOUNI (TAH)
    Reserve AR: Folio MOEAKI (TGA)
    VAR: Alan KELLY (USA*)
    AVAR: Pawel RACZKOWSKI (POL)

Kickoff is tomorrow, Saturday, at 12pm EDT.

Penalty awarded via VAR on an incident in the second minute. Correct decision.

The AR lined up at the junction with the PA on that PK

Yeah the U20 and WWC ARs have different instructions. There is not GLT at U20s, right?

This game is being played at a crazy pace, and also pretty cleanly.

78’ - I believe Corey Parker just told Elfath to give a yellow card and call a foul as trail AR. Original decision was goal kick. But there was a flailing arm that Elfath couldn’t see. Parker, from 60 yards away, had the only angle.

That was a good performance. Elfath and team certainly didn’t do anything to hurt themselves. He’s going to be in the mix for Qatar, though it’s a long way off.

Must have been a solid performance if there isn’t a long thread dissecting a whole lot. The foul recognition by Parker has to be a big plus for Team Elfath.
