Cremaschi will definitely get more chances. Wynder with senior minutes I think will start to merit consideration. I bet tsakiria will as well.
And the ref let them get away with a red, there's that as well. Brennan missed a sitter right after, and 2 of the 3 goals I saw (I didn't see the one that made it 2-1) were absolutely moronic exhibitions of defending and goalkeeping. You can't make mistakes like that, fail to finish, and not have a clear red card given as it should have been and win. Just can't. At least in '15, a pretty crappy team pushed an eventual champion, our '17 and '23 sides fought hard despite being totally overmatched, '03 was unlucky, '19 was the coaches fault, this was just pathetic and embarrassing, like '07.
yeah its becase they refuse to actually take advantage of that fact you try to go 3 on 8 and no one can score like that
A cruel way to end the tournament. End of the day lack of finishers hurt the team. I am done talking about Cole Campbell till he's playing first team minutes
It seems that we're simply a U20 quarterfinal program. For the umpteenth time. Having Kochen available would've been nice. Sigh.
We let them play their game and they let us play ours. Theirs was better. The loss is heavy on the coach.
I was watching on Peacock with Spanish language commentary, and I'd just like to note that the play-by-play announcer very bizarrely followed up Luke Brennan's miss with an artificially low, sinister-sounding "Luke, we have a problem." And I am convinced that he somehow mixed-up and combined Star Wars and Apollo 13 in his head. Just didn't want that to go unmentioned.
A little bit of both. One thing I can really say though, is that I don't want to hear the senior team (Adams before window 1 of qualifying in '21 for instance) and certainly not these guys talking up their desire to win it all, only to totally ---- their pants. You can do the big talk after you take home the trophy, if all you can do is get embarrassed by an inferior side through keystone cops stupidity like the '07 group, you need to shut the ---- up and speak with your play, and leave the quotes to the other guys. So so so sick of the big talk, only for the same ol, same ol inept choking as always. Totally humiliating at this point. Mexico may suck too, but at least they win the occasional tournament or make big runs (at the U17 and U23 level), we ---- our pants every time, at the QF level. So, so, so tired. Well beyond over this. I doubt '27 is much better as I suspect Cavan and Albert will be senior squad players two years from now, gutting the top talent from that team (and if they are, good).
Losing to a better team, I can take it. Losing because you make mistakes after mistakes, it just P. me off.
Morocco was stronger and more realistic. Furthermore, Morocco has increasingly developed a great structure to train players. This Moroccan team will surely replace the current generation. Anyway, the most important for these young players will be to play in a profesionnal club and go for a senior career.
Yeah, that is my opinion too. Either of those, separately, is fine. The two of them together makes no sense. Yep.
Yep, '15, '17 and '23 didn't hurt because we were outplayed by strong teams, '19 hurt because of the coaching stupidity from Ramos with the lineup decision re: Mendez and Durkin, but I recognized the opponent as worthy and quite good. This was just inept, half ----ed stupidity and in particular, wondering if Barca hadn't totally ----ed us, if this game isn't 1-0 us in the 80th minute and us getting a red card properly? but instead, as is, we played like total idiots, got hosed by the ref, and in the end, choked. It was pathetic. Would be much easier to swallow if Morocco just kicked our ---, but that didn't happen. So frustrating.
