    wow! did i miss this completely? is he signed at psv? when did this happen?

    I think he's on trial at PSV. I only know about him playing yesterday because of an email from inside PSV. Nothing about it on the english version of PSV.nl or anywhere else.

    ... and if you read the Mexicans' posts, that's what they're claiming, too.

    I have no reason to doubt the sincerity of posters on either side, but I sort of doubt that there's really a quadruple standard on this board.

    Nice report.

    On Freddy as attacking midfielder, DCU fans pretty quickly started calling for Nowak to move Freddy from forward back to midfield, for all the reasons that you articulate. Sure enough, Freddy did indeed look like a different player when he received the ball deeper, with defenders to run at.

    I would have to agree. Aside from being fast & technical -- good starting points but no more than starting points -- he really doesn't seem to have the necessary attributes for a forward. Poor off-the-ball movement, not much anticipation, no size/strength to hold up ball, not great with back to the goal, etc. But at midfield ... ah, that's a different story.
