I don't know if we have a special forum for this...Name your favourites to win.

Here are the S.American qualified teams

    1. Brazil
    2. Argentina
    3. Uruguay
    4. Chile

The S.American area is well represented, during the qualy tournament I'd say Brazil had the strongest lineup overall, however Argentina were missing half of their players. ('europeans'...Messi, Aguero, Higuain, Gago, etc...) Uruguay and Chile also had very solid teams.

I think it's going to a S.American nation again. Argentina will probably defend their title. Although the other S.American nations can also go far...

Here are the top10 goals of that tournament, good Chilean goals.

    Re: U2-world Cup, Canada!

In addition to the ones that you mentioned, obviously Canada...

    Spain
    Scotland
    Czech Republic
    Austria
    Poland
    Portugal
    North Korea
    South Korea
    Japan
    Jordan
    New Zealand
    Congo
    Nigeria
    Gambia
    Zambia
    USA
    Panama

There are two more nations to qualify from Concacaf, its between Mexico, Costa Rica, Jamaica and St. Kitts and Nevis.

Most likely you can add Mexico and Costa Rica to that list, but Jamaica could challenge Costa Rica.

Does anyone know when the actual draw is supposed to take place?

Assuming Mexico qualifies, i'd say they are a contender. I would say that argentina is a contender only if messi and aguero play, otherwise i thought that brasil and chile looked stronger than they did during qualifiers. i have only watched conmebol and concacaf teams so i can't really speak on the other zones.

I watched most of the Conmebol qualifier and the finishing order is a bit misleading. Personally I thought Chile looked the best, with Uruguay a close second.

Chile played good, if Chile had not wasted so many chances against Paraguay it would have been Chile and Brazil in the olympics. Then again, Argentina was missing Gago, Higuain and Aguero, those guys together rasie the lvl. of the team by 50% if not more. Chile was only missing Mati Fernandez.

Chile played really well, but you are right, their biggest problem during the qualifiers were lost chances. Based on the two regions who i have seen so far i would say Chile, Brazil, and USA are contenders.

Argentina are a contender if they take their A sub-20 team, and Mexico is a contender if and when they qualify. I have a feeling someone from the Americas will be taking this trophy.

Is Messi still considered part of the U20 team? Shouldn't he have graduated to the senior team by now? Gago too?

I'm sorry compadre but Chile is not a contender...we miss too many chances. Brazil don't, they might have played poorly at times but at the end of the day they scored when it matered and ended up wining the whole thing.

Chile finished 4th in South American qualifying, they are not a contender for the title. The real contenders will be:

Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Nigeria, USA

Chile could surprise everyone but if you are going to rate them a contender, you must also list Congo, Mexico, Scotland, Uruguay, Czech Republic, South Korea, and Canada.

I would'nt underestimate NORTH Korea. They are the U-20 Asian champions, and they were in the last U-17 World Cup, making the second round.

Youth championships can be hard to predict, because so often the 'established' nations lose to small ones.

The contenders will be Brazil, Argentina, Nigeria, ¿Portugal?

Obviously I hope that my NT would arrive among the top4 (a lot of chileans live in Canada, so it will be interesting to watch on tv).

Wow, I was afraid that Mexico will arrive to Canada as favorite, but now I know that we are being underestimated again. which is good, that way we can win another youth world cup.

Are the games in Montreal going to be on an artificial turf, or are they bringing natural grass into Olympic Stadium for this event?

canada and Uruguay? I dont think so. I'm not so sure about Nigeria either, the african teams didn't do much in the u17 wc

I'd say the contenders are like this.

    1. Argentina (Messi and Aguero are still within age, are defending champs.)
    2. Brazil (Cause its Brazil)
4.Spain (It's known for having good youth teams, its european, and right now has alot of hype)
    5. Mexico (being the defendin champions of the last u17 wc.) Now Mexico is my favorite to win, but being a concacaf team i dont think it'll be rank as high at the beggining of the competition.
