I'm sure this has been talked about but somebody who has seen all 3, tell me what your thoughts are on the strengths & weaknesses. I am partial to Baumstark but know that Cronin has more int'l experience and Ford Williams plays in a better conference. Thoughts anyone?
not a professional opinon of course, but from the few matches I've seen each in, i'll say Cronin and Williams are very close. I think Williams distribution is better, and his handling is a strength. Cronin's handling is good as well, although his distribution, particularly on goal kicks, is a bit erratic. I think Cronin gets the edge because of an ability to make some reflex saves, basically out of his wazoo. Not saying Williams can't do that, but Cronin seems to have just a little extra in that regard. Baumstark clearly is athletic and has a good range of keeper skills, but in the one match where I saw him, at the Combine, he did seem a little slow in getting off his line, a little shaky in some of his positioning and maybe prone to a bit of flapping - but again, one match is not sufficent to give an authoritative report on him, so take it as an observation of one match.
