COSTA RICA IN THE SEMIFINALS OF THE U-20 WORLD CUP! Now, all we have to do is beat Brazil (lol) and I like our chances against either Hungary or Ghana... We can be champions of the world!!! (lol)

So close yet so far! We played a really smart game against Brazil and had some good chances to score...but Brazil is Brazil. I was really disappointed in this team in the first round...but they really stepped up after the game against Czech Republic especially defensively by inserting Roy Smith in the starting lineup and taking out Derrick Johnson and Kenner Gutierrez. It's too bad we lost Bryan Oviedo and Cristian Gamboa for this match...but i think Pedro Leal and Ricardo Blanco did a nice job for being their first games at starters in the WC. Hope this team can bring 3rd place back to Costa Rica...and stay together for the 2012 Olympics
Only caught from the 66th minute, on (I was at work ), but I was impressed with how long we were able to keep it scoreless, and how much we were attacking. To be able to say that it really could've gone either way against Brazil is an accomplishment itself for Los Ticos, especially in a U20 World Cup Semi-final. Very, very proud of our boys, and not at all disappointed with how they repped La Bandera... Pura vida. Aww man, I forgot about that! Awesome, I'm pumped!
3rd place in a World Cup would be great for us...Hungary will be a tough team to beat...they took out Czech Republic and Italy...but we'll have Bryan Oviedo and Cristian Gamboa back...i hope our NT can learn from the U-20 and play with a lot of heart...i just hope some of the players play abroad because our local league sucks...and they'll end up being shittty players if they stay in Costa Rica.
