U.S. Under-18 MNT Schedule Date Opponent June 3 Paris Saint-Germain June 5 RC Lens June 7 RE Mouscron June 8 Villareal CF June 9 Placement Match Once again, several of the players are 84s. Off the top of my head, Guzan, Burch, Karbassiyoon and Johnson are 84s and perhaps some others. I've never heard of Videira - I think this is his first camp with the 18s. Here are their teams/schools. All players will be freshmen this fall unless otherwise noted. Andrew Kartunen - Stanford Brad Guzman -South Carolina Greg Dalby - Notre Dame Hunter Freeman -Virginia (So.) Patrick Phelan HS Sr. in 03 Jed Zayner - Indiana Issac Collings - Syracuse William Hall - Virginia Patrick Ianni - UCLA Danny Vasquez - Don't know (or don't remember) Mike Videira - Unknown (by me) Arturo Alvarez -San Jose Earthquakes Chad Barrett - UCLA Marc Burch - Evansville (So.) Paul Johnson - Virginia (So.) Danny Karbassiyoon - Arsenal (due to sign in July) Nate Norman - Notre Dame Anyone know why Craig Capano or Jorge Flores weren't called in?
Thanks for the roster Sandon, it would be interesting to see Zayner and Freeman on the same back line. Do you have any insight into Freeman's plans for the future? It would have been great to have him in DC to back up Reyes instead of Benny dropping back.
Flores might still have some commitments with his junior team, the Argentina league is still going, I think. Google says that Videira is a rising senior at the Noble and Greenough school where he scored 8 goals and 16 assists and was named Globe All-Scholastic League Offensive Player of the Year.
I think the kid's name at Chacarita Jrs is Sergio Flores. I wonder how far he's made it over there. Big hooly following. Jorge Flores was a past U17 that was one of the original P40 signings. Dallas, I think. Disappeared or something.
u18 roster Correct 18th player is Sergio Flores. Second Hand information from someone who talked to a player who is going on the trip.
UVA recruiting shouldn't have a hand in national team selection. Unfortunately we have had too many of these discussions in the past.
Man.... That's really disturbing. And I say this as a dyed in the wool Cavalier. By doing this, Big Game George, and by extension, Bruce Arena, is really opening himself up for criticism from his peers.
