The Czech Republic destroyed this Tajikistan team pretty easily. Methinks the next US match will be an eye opener for us. But I guess I should just focus myself with the team actually winning this current match
Not sure how we did not score on that barrage - must be said, Albert missed the easiest of tap ins. He’s had a rough match imo. should be 2-1, but alas no. US better close this out in 2nd half, Tajikistan is ceding so much possession and letting us bring the ball so far forward without pushback
Yep, 2007 (3-4 loss in the group stage). Still remember it because that was the summer of wtf losses with our youth teams (the U20's beat Brazil, and an all time Uruguay U20 side, and then lost to a total ---- Austria side 2 months earlier in the QF's. I didn't realize at the time that that '07 U17 team was the first in a series of hugely weak and disappointing U20 and U17 teams that would continue for the next 6 years).
I was about to lose my sh**, but luckily this ref has logic and a brain. If that was called a penalty, then we will have to start asking defenders to cut off their arms or tie them behind their backs in match play
Some promising play, for sure. I'd like to see a bit better instinct from Adams (placement, runs), but I honestly don't know a thing about him other than this half+ of soccer.
If the US does not win this they have only themselves to blame. They are getting chance after chance. others may disagree, but this system of allowing challenges by teams with the “challenge card” seemed like a valid idea to try at youth levels, but hopefully is never instituted at the higher levels. Talk about killing of momentum and flow of games.
This penalty is being challenged, but it should fail. He was clearly clipped, not enough evidence to overturn any of this.
They allow you to challenge 2 different “actions”on the same play/sequence, I believe. but yeah, the way they are showing it and the duration they are playing, it makes it seem like they “challenged” 5 whole minutes of play haha
