Glad to see Gulley back, hopefully he is 100%.

He's an interesting case. When you look for him online you can see the player named Fernando Laverde from Long Island wasn't attached to a club in January.

But by the end of February, he was being claimed by FC Dallas. (unless there are two Fernando Laverde's in the U17 pool.)

I've also seen a player referred to as Fernando Laverde Torres in various places at FCD, and I believe that's the same kid.

Somebody needs to correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't this kid also represented Colombia's U17's?

It is my understanding that he is no longer a member of the u-17 mens national team and will not be at the WC.

I wonder how many brazilian or argentine u17's have "violated team policy" and still have competed.

    Just saying.

There will be a lot of people who will look at this as why Bradenton doesn't work, or point to yet another player who leaves and ends up making it big later and point to the failures of Bradenton. Out of privacy and respect to Andew Oliver and his family I chose to phrase the answer this way. This is way beyond a Wilmer Cabrera house cleaning.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by that. I don't mean that snarkily at all.

Whatever the case, I can't wait until Bradenton's role is diminished.

I agree with you on the phase out. My point was that many posters will blame Wilmer when this has nothing to do with Wilmer. Kids at sixteen make stupid choices no matter where they live.

Almost everybody here seems to, but thus far there's barely any indication that a worthwhile replacement is being phased in. In that do-or-die U-20 game a few weeks ago, 8 of our 11 starters had been at Bradenton.

More to the point, there's a game today, right?

Estados Unidos: 1-. Fernando Piña; 2-. Andrew Souders, 3-. Nathan Smith, 4-. Joe Amon (12-. Keffyn Acosta), 5-. Matt Dunn (15-. Alessandro Mion), 6-. Zach Carroll, 7-. Alfred Karoma, 8-. Esteban Rodríguez, 9-. Jack Mc Bean (17-. Mario Rodríguez), 14-. David Sarkizy (13-. Dillon Serna) y 11-. Mark Pelosi. DT. Wilmer Cabrera.

US lineup is here, no Guido. I'm guessing that Sarkizy is really Tarik Salkicic.

Is there not a Mexico YNT forum?

It's one thing to come here with news, which is of course very appreciated. But it is another thing entirely to come here and be jackasses.

    Mods?

last time we played them we beat them 4 to 1. Next match the kids should be better used to the elevation. I heard they were soft goals.

Well, why do you think they are doing these friendlies?
Azteca is probably the only place in the world that most players fear, why? Exhaustion.
