    final score
    U17 Korea (0-2) U17 Argentina

With Yang missing a pk(YANG!!!), the Argies scored the 2 goals in the latter half. Their first goal was more like our own-goal as their shot hit our defender's feet, drew a huge arc, and went in.

Their second goal came late in the game with an Argie scoring off the blocked shot that was bouncing away.

Although the scoreline was 0-2(against Argentina, the champions of U17 in CONMEBOL), the overall game itself was VERY tightly matched.

The Argies needed a victory in order to win the tournament, and both sides played at such a close level that I found myself being surprised at myself for thinking that we could actually win this game.

I don't have the overall stats, but the ball possession was 51%-49% at half with shots 8-6 in favor of Korea.

One thing that surprised me the most, was the way the Korean youngsters played. They were so good at individual flair and sooo confident that they were COUNTER-DRIBBLING against the dribble-crazy Argentinians. Other than a few very talented Argentinian dribbling machines up front, the Korean players didn't seem to lack at all at dribbling and maintaining the ball. They all seemed extremely confident.

The game was hightly contested until the end of the game, and it felt a bit weird to see the Argie players go CRAZY after their first goal. It made me think 'boy aren't they happy to score a goal against the Koreans.' It showed how much Korea has grown in the football world and it sure is glad to see a great generation in progress.

Thanks for that match briefing. I meant to see it but I just fell asleep. Next thing I knew, I woke up at 7:30 with the game long over. I visited several Korean websites to the disappointing news of the 0-2 loss against Argentina.

But knowing that South Korea were neck and neck against the Argies is a relief. I'd thought the U17 squad were rolled over by them.

Finishing finishing finishing. Why are Koreans so mediocre at it. A strict upbringing and society has to do a lot with it, I'm sure. I say this because when children are raised in a strict environment and often times enduring corporal punishment by both parents and school teachers, their spontaneity, confidence to be free to do what they want, and creativity becomes diminished and I think that is why Korean players are so predictable when in front of goal. It's as if when they have clear cut chances, the worries of pressure, scoring, trying not to let his team down all implodes into a one big choke move.

Yeah, I know, but then the problem is, Chun Soo, being the free spirit that he is, has one handicap against his side.

He just lacks skill even though he drips with confidence on the pitch. Now, I'm not saying he's useless, but simply saying as I stated before, he just doesn't know how to go all the way once he shows some inspiration and some burst of creativity.
