Lee was always scheduled to go back after the first game... making it frustrating that he didn't get some more playing time against Columbia.

With Nguyen sent back we could see Ibarra get a good run out... maybe even a Morris debut!

Ditto. Ireland were very poor and made Scotland (who has gotten better, but still...) look quite good. A lot of chippy crap out of Ireland as well (18 fouls, 4 yellows). If the US does not give this team a good game, something is wrong. Fletch went off injured early in the 2nd (in other US-interesting news.) and won't play in the Scotland-England friendly Tuesday, it seems. He was active, but could have scored of an early corner.

Why was Beasley released if he doesn't have an MLS playoff game to return home for?

Could be a personal reason, an injury or some reason the club wants him back. We probably won't know.

Because Garza was the obvious choice at LB, with Chandler on the bench.
It might be personal. IDK, but a quick note here, Beasley was the other younster that went to the 2002 WC with Donovan. Maybe Klinsman thinks the same about Beasley as he does about Donovan.

Another dumb Klinsmann move. Even if he doesn't want to play Beasley, let him stay with the team the rest of the week (unless he's injured). He already knew he had Garza, Chandler and Fabian as LB options when he picked his roster.

I really don't want to see Ale Bedoya unless he plays as a true 6 experimentally. We already know what he can do otherwise. Give Ibarra a whole game. Tell Mix he has to attack and attack if he wants to be given the keys to the car. Better yet, don't. Play Mix as an 8, his best position. Put green in the 10 spot. He can dribble and he doesn't have to defend as much.... I don't know anyone who is happy with either Klinsmann's roster or his mis-use of personnel

I don't know why they released the players.. National team comes first and is a lot more important than a MLS match.. MLS needs to change their schedule to at least respect international dates.

No, NT friendlies are not more important than a domestic league's playoffs.

This is quite random, but does anyone know of a bar in Panama City Panama that will show the game on the tele? It's gonna be tough with Euro qualifying, obviously

You realize euro leagues start back up this coming weekend as well right? The fact that we're having a 3rd round of Fifa dates this close after the world cup is silly. If the Euros want to run their guys in the ground go ahead.

Doesn't mean we're happy about it. I'm country over club and even I recognize the difference between playoffs and a friendly. And he did the right thing and returned, plus played a total of 10 minutes (which makes me wonder how injured he was).

To be clear: if it was a European qualifier I'd feel differently - I had no problems with him going to the Scotland game. But he needed to skip the friendly like the players on our team that headed back too.

So great. Think he can teach our fullbacks a thing or two. Good choice by Vogts or JK.

I'm thinking you see Jones as well eventually. The cb gig and all that.

I'd kind of like to see Morales get the start. Not because I necessarily think he's awesome or anything, but more because I feel like I haven't gotten a sense of what he can bring, as he keeps getting thrown on in the last 15-20 minutes when the US is getting overrun.
