    Good morning everyone.

Yesterday I spoke with a representative with U.S. Soccer. They confirmed that the rumored USA-Czech Republic match will in fact take place on Tuesday, May 25 at Rentschler Field. That is the good news, here is the better news...

U.S. Soccer will be making the announcement at Vaughan's this Wednesday during the US-Netherlands game! They have asked us to come out in full force for the game to support the announcement. This is an incredibly exciting event for our young group. So tell every soccer fan you know, and help spread the word!

This is great news for our chapter!!! Vaughan's should be awesome, but let's not forget to put together a great tailgate as well. I will be one of many who would prefer to tailgate, at least partially before the match!

I'll just eat downtown. Hopefully they have the shuttles again, that worked great. Was anyone from US Soccer at Vaughan's?

Plans were changed on Tuesday, the announcement itself was not made at Vaughan's; instead U.S. Soccer sent out a press release but did promote the viewing. About 15-20 supporters were in attendance, most looking like they stepped out of an office boardroom. Fox Connecticut showed up and did some filming, which made it into their evening broadcast.

We made some new members, and AO Hartford has some ambitious plans for this game as well as the World Cup! The World Cup can't come soon enough!

I will be driving down from New Hampshire. Can somebody confirm that I will be able to bring my bass drum into the stadium?

Anyone want to refresh people who may not have gone in the past what the events are like for games in Hartford? Block party, etc. My memory is not the best for obvious reasons. :D

Hartford is a great city with a great history. Vaughan's will be the perfect pregame and postgame supporters bar. Good food and beer. Hopefully we'll be able to close down the entire street and make it a block party. The game will be in East Hartford, 15 min. drive depending on traffic.

Thanks - gotta stay positive about our Capital City.

So I just finished talking to the manager of Vaughans - Nothing related to a pre-game party, block party or post-game party will be decided till after St. Patrick's Day.

They are 80% certain they'll be doing something but nothing is final yet.

    Great news from AO Hartford:

The hotel contract has been received; the group discount rate of $149/night through code: AMOAMOD

Walking distance to the new Connecticut Science Center, great restaurants like Dish, Morton’s and Asylum Cafe. And of course, our supporters pub Vaughan’s Public House. Not to mention City Steam Brewery, McKinnon’s, Tavern and about 10 other drinking/eating establishments.

The stadium is a 10 minute drive but we are still working on shuttle service details to follow.
