I worked with sarin and mustard......very, very bad stuff...... Hope they don't decide to launch these against our boys.
Holy crap! I hadn't heard this yet, only that we had found a lot of suspicious liquids and powders. But to find real chemical weapons is total vindication for Bush and Blair. I can rest easier tonight knowing we took that stuff before they launced them.
is this a suprise? they will of course find a lot more. Some people really tried to discredit the Iraqi exile scientist, but they will lead us to lots more chemical weapons after the war. I remember that guy from Scotland wrote that report on his study of weapons that Saddam was collecting. It said something along the lines of "we asked Iraq to account for 600 tons of vx nerve gas and Iraq claimed it would do so within 36 hours. they still have not done so and that was months ago."
Re: Re: U.S. Finds Missiles with Chemical Weapons Did you ever doubt they were there? If they weren't there we would have brought our own.
i work with a guy who was a chem/bio expert back in GW1 for the military. he told us there was no doubt that there were gonna be weapons found, that it was only a matter of time. someone just got busted!
Not a surprise. Just glad they finally found the weapons that Hans Blix didn't want to look for because of fear they existed. Hey Chirac and Putin and Schroeder how do you like them apples? The protestors can go home and get back to life, knowing that these weapons won't be used against them in the future.
Good news. Let's find some more caches, and hopefully not any spent cannisters, and end this thing. I do not want to hear any crap from anyone about how this is ************************ -- or planted. But we will hear it from someone.
Nice point, and the problems with the way Bush sold this war are going to be up for debate in the future. This is clealry relevant to the issue of freeing the Iraqi people from a government that used these types of weapons against their own people.
OK, since I'm the one who just farted in church, allow me to explain. I've always suspected he had them. I just didn't think he'd use them. I didn't think it was a threat. Or, more accurately, assessing the risk of him using them to damage the US, and comparing that to the cost (all the costs) of this war, I thought this war was a bad idea.
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tm...0407/wl_mideast_afp/iraq_war_wmd_030407175243 Oopsy......not quite what it seems I guess. Oh well....we will find the stuff....
Is this suprising? I believe finding WMD will justify why the UN should have taken military action, I'm just not convinced that it justifies why the US needed to act practically alone.
Again, can we be suprised with American, no I should say the worldwide media coverage in general? How many times have they posted something only to find out that initial reports were wrong? Maybe when everything is said and done it will be sarin.
If you read both articles carefully, you'll see where in the first they found 20 medium range missiles armed with chemical weapons and the second one they found a facility thought to produce the nerve agents.
Exactly, that report is about another site. We found a site with missiles containing sarin, and tabun. I already posted that we found suspicious material, but the first link in this thread is about a separate site, with damning evidence.
I think it was a bad idea too, and I don't think we will ever be able to accurately determine whether it was a good or bad idea. But, given that he still had these, I think I have to put that in the calculus of whether we are removing a bad guy. In other words, when you are throwing out the pluses and minuses, finding this is in the plus column, whether or not you ultimately support the war.
> damning evidence "Damning evidence" implies evidence that is then used to damn someon. Iraq has already been damned.
