We could have won if: The ref calls the handball in the box (PK, forget red card) (1-1) Tony Sannah hits the open net on his header in the 8?th minute (2-1 FT) We had more opportunities, Germany made the most of theirs/got lucky.
Ps Btleo, I do believe Germany will win World Cup 2006. I don't think they'd be able to win it, or even acquit themselves particularly well, if the game was held in another country. But with Brazil only having won one cup on European soil (in Sweden, no less), and there really not being all that much difference these days between the top European teams, I think home field advantage becomes huge. If this was in England, they win. Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, etc., ditto.
For my other Euro-based Americans - how do you guys plan on getting tickets? I'll probably bring about 4 friends but of course I'll be in charge of getting them into the stadium (as well as their airfare and lodging). Teresa Oles (USSF) a month ago didn't know what they were going to do. They said they dont send tickets overseas but sometimes they can leave them at the team hotel..... ?

Re: Ps Well everyone has another opinion. In soccer is everything possible. So it is possible that Germany will win the World Cup. It is what I believe. You may believe that Italy or Brazil win the World Cup. You might be right on this. It is o.k to discuss this, have different opinion. We will don´t know who is right until the World Cup ends. I also think USA will be big surprise in the World Cup. From my point view you will advance the group together with Czechs. I think Czechs or USA can play in semi-finale. But it is my opinion only. I don´t like using words: "BAD" and "GOOD" team. World Cup or friendly is a competition. If we knew in advance who would win the game or the cup, we would don´t need any World Cup or any friendly. We could simply say Brazil is world cup winner or something like this. But we have World Cup because every nation who will play in WC believe that they can advance and every team has the big goal to win the cup. There are many threads on BS talking about favorites and outsiders, group of deadh and life. But nothing like this exists in soccer. Soccer is simply game about 90 minutes, 22 players try to get one ball and make as many goals as possible. And the outcome of the game does not depend only on quality of players, but on many many other factors and some good luck as well. Germany had last world Cup a lot of good luck. So we can have a bit good luck in 2006 as well. But everything is possible.... so the good test is Germany-USA game.... and I will be there. Bltleo GERMANy
