There are rumors going around that perhaps Bruce Arena may take over the U-20 coaching vacany just through qualifying in January until a full time coach can be found. Has anyone heard the same?
Why wouldn't he have his assistants take over instead? I'd prefer Arena put all his energy into the full team.
I do not know the timetable of the national team vs the u20 team but if it is not going to interupt him at all i dont see the problem with him doing it. Though ill admit i dont not know what his regular schedule looks like but with the MLS season over and if there is nothing goining on with the national team what will he be doing? Will he be watching games from Europe of his players playing abroad most of which are played on the weekend mornings? Would that be enough to consider him busy? The under20 qualifying will be held in LA right? So there will not be any traveling involved. Im confused Davide if you can elaborate, what energy will he be taking away from the national team?
He's already been the coach of the U-20s (see Nigeria '99). I'm not sure he'd return to that level. Perhaps he'd go to Germany? With his buddy Klinsmann in charge of the national team, maybe he'd get a recommendation to coach a Bundisliga team? On the other hand, Sigi likes living in LA and that's where the U-20s are likely to be training......
Yeah, this seems silly. I'd see Sigi going there or something similar. Given his background in college ball, Sigi might be perfect for the role.
