Frankfurt's draw today makes it official that Leipzig will be playing in the Champions League next season.
Damn Julian Nagelsmann confirms Tyler Adams is out of the DFB-Pokal Finale. Hasn’t recovered in time. #RBLBVB— Derek Rae (@RaeComm) May 12, 2021
Adams remains out today with a back injury. At this point, I hope he sits out next week as well to ensure his availability for the Switzerland match.
I wonder if Leipzig’s downturn in form is due to missing Tyler or due to Nagelsmann leaving. Or they have nothing to play for?
There does seem to be a trend of results spiraling downwards in the Bundesliga this season after a manager announces that he is leaving to another club for next season. RasenballSport were able to claw out a 2-2 draw today, a result that means that both Adams and Brooks will play in Champions League next season.
I am starting to operate under the assumption that he’s going to be out for the Switzerland game and NL too. That way my bar is low.
I suppose the great Cosmos demanded this after allowing him to play/start in so many matches this season.
I am not sure. Everything from your hammy's up to the lower back are pretty related. You injure an adductor and finally get "healthy" but that weakness can lead to instabilities. The good news is that Tyler logged a lot of minutes this season... the bad news is that he was not able to finish out the season again. The USMNT really needs options at the 6 because Adams appears to be a bit fragile. I also wonder where he fits in w/ RBL next season w/ Laimer coming back.

What is this "back injury" with which he is struggling mightily? It can't be a soft tissue injury, in my opinion, as those heal up with rest, ice and PT. Do we have any clarity on the specific issue? This seems worrisomely like a potential spinal nerve issue? I had to retire from my burgeoning football career at 20 due to a lumbosacral disc condition that required surgery so it's not unheard of that a young kid can get this kind of injury.
W/his track record, I'd rather him rest than play in nations league if there's any question at all about health. We need him for qualifiers, I dont care about Nations League until they have a competition between the confederations as a reward and even so, the World Cup and Qualification is just way more important. What is with this barrage of injuries at the final hurdle of the season? So weird.
Club teams "asking" their important players to find excuses to get rested and avoid international play ?
This is a recurrent "back injury". I can't see this being a soft tissue injury given how this has impacted his season. It's not a nerve injury, what I'm speaking of is a spinal disc issue causing nerve impingement and pain, that might need surgery.
