During an interview with ESPN he joked that he did not even score goals in middle school.

    It looked like RWB/DM hybrid

    Berhalter must be proud!

I'm going to watch the last 20 minutes of the match to re-confirm this...

Okay, I re-watched. I would summarize it as:

    1. Kampl and Sabitzer were the central pairing and Adams was the wingback.
    2. There were 3-4 occasions where Adams got drawn inside that Sabitzer stayed on the right, while Kampl always stayed central. He and Sabitzer are versatile, so there would be no reason for Adams to rush back to the right side.
    3. After Adams scored the winner, Sabitzer got subbed out and Adams ended the match as a central midfielder.

Tyler's position was to man-mark Joao Felix wherever.

Yeah... defensively he was there to mark him. But he and Sabitzer did switch position several times in the 20 minutes.

They were saying he was MOTM on that video... was he really? He played great and had the game winner but Upamecano was unreal for 90+ minutes in this one. I would have given him the nod. I am not sure he made one wrong move all game. At any rate, I certainly will take the MOTM nomination for Adams. Really hope he and RBL follow this up against Neymar and Co.. It is going to be a tough test.

Literally dominated the entire game. He was also flawless going forward as well. What a performance.

Any word on Sabitzer's injury? He had an assist and that great pass to start the Adams goal. Although his absence would make an Adams start likely against PSG they will surely miss him if he can't go. He has reinvented himself in the dual 6 and rwb role.

Nice pic. I also thought Adams' hustle in his sub appearance helped to hold off A Madrid. The yellow card he drew was absolutely crucial after Halstenberg failed to clear. W/o that challenge I think Madrid is likely in on goal.

A little bit off topic, but UCL is on CBS All Access now? WTF? How is the highest quality soccer tournament in the world on some second tier streaming service? Now that I get NBC, NBCSN, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN+, Foxsports1, and Foxsports2, I thought my days of looking through sketchy streaming sites for feeds of games were over.

I guess I'll have to suck it up and do it to watch a Yank in the UCL semis.

I assume they are doing it now to get people to subscribe to the app. If the CL gets going again I have a feeling it would be live on CBS Sports Network. Unless they think the Tiki/Tierney show gets better ratings.

If you want to know how ridiculously stacked France is, Upamecano Could very well be the best CB in the world in two years and he’s still never had a senior team cap. Sure he’s only almost 22, but any other team in the world, he’s playing at least once.

Pretty sure Red Card posted a little bit later that he changed his mind after seeing the vertical camera. IMO, that is close to definitive. If it was off target it was VERY close. Gotta call that on target... and own-goal would have been a rough call. Regardless, once the officials decide it is a done deal.
