Yeah, not buying it...both tackles were awful and should have been easily spotted by the Referee and not need any VAR intervention.
On field: Decapitation occurs... Ref: Pulls yellow..."Football eritage !" Gives stern talking to. VAR:Reversal, red card. Ref :"Games gone!"
I remember when referees would tell a decapitated player to "gerron wi' it, it's a bloody man's game!". Pitches were so muddy that players would regularly drown or bleed to death after cutting themselves on barbed wire. Maybe I'm confusing football with the Battle of the Somme.
I imagine he knew it would be reviewed either way. But they were very clear and very obvious even without replay.
City came close to ruining Arsenal's day by equalizing with 90 seconds left, but they were unable to get the job done, and the match ended 1-1. AFCB will play somewhere in Europe next season for the first time ever! BUT they did not secure a CL position, so Tyler can't be wrapped up for the World Cup. Had they seen out the 1-0 win, a CL spot would've been clinched. So we'll all have to watch Sunday's match with bated breath...
it was a miserable goal to concede too. Just bouncing around the box, couldn't get the ball clear, and it happened to fall to the Norweagian freak...
We can still get champions league. We are relying on other results, but we can still get champions league.
only caught the 2nd half, but I thought he did well. Adams went the full 90', which is always good to see. He wasn't a standout, but also didn't play a significant role in City's equalizer and made important defensive interventions when he needed. Rodri looked exhausted when he left the match, which can be attributed to Adams work, IMO. His ratings on the algorithms (sofascore, whoscored, etc) will be negatively impacted by his YC for dissent.
I was not able watch unfortunately, but I'd say keeping Man City scoreless for over 90 minutes probably means he had a good day.
CL wouldn't been clinched with a win. England only get's the 6th spot if Aston Villa win Europa and finish 5th. A Bournemouth win today would've kept them in 6th (and today's result did as well). They can still get 6th and CL if the Aston Villa results go their way.
Losing those two points at the end removed their ability to take the CL spot for finishing 5th.... they are now 3 points behind Liverpool and almost certainly can't make up the GD (6) in a single game. They basically need Villa to win Europa so the the qualifying line moves down a spot for them. So I do think this result was a pretty major disappointment... If Villa doesn't pull off a Europa win they will probably be kicking themselves for missing so many opportunities to go up by two in the 2nd half. Bournemouth was very impressive in transition.... just couldn't put the ball in the net.
If it was Marmite, then you can have it. I'll never forget my kinda girlfriend at the time describing it as "tasting like minge". I'll leave everyone but you and @Paul Berry to figure that one out.
They need Villa to win the Europa League AND drop to 5th. If Villa win and finish 4th the Europa League titleholder spot goes to some other league. If Villa win and finish 5th, they hold on to the Europa League winner’s spot and the bonus spot for league performance drops to 6th place.
Technically they can still get 5th, but practically, the goal difference is too much to make up as you said. It's not just about Villa winning Europa - they have to finish fifth as well for England to get the 6th spot, or else England only get five spots.
