Just watch Tottenham replay. My 2 cents:

Dude was everywhere, amazing. Announcers raving over him during the 2nd half. Wow, that was old school Adams. Proud papa moment.

    - James Maddison is such a baller. His technical skills and awareness is so good. Major man crush on him. Kinda goes to ground a bit easy but he is so great to watch. Tyler man marking him in the 2nd half, it was obvious that was the direction. A few nice battles.. Maddison getting the better of him a few times with slick touches but overall TA really dented his ability to dictate play. And for that, kudos.

    - he was much better at pressing, appropriately, when in defensive shape. He'd step aggressively to the ball and didn't ball chase. He'd press hard and then retreat into disciplined position. It must be so great to be a CB for Bournemouth with TA in front of you. Total protection.

    - didn't have much possession at all but when he did it was pushed forward to start transition. Some fantastic little passes from him.

    - can we talk about that press anticipation on the goal that was called back. Keeper slow to play out of the back, TA reads Maddison trying to check to from the center circle and TA totally beats him to the ball. Probably 30 yard run to break it up. Outstanding.

If the forward who cleaned up Adams’ scraps and scored that offside goal (E____son) would have had his head on straight, he would have 1) been onside, 2) given Adams an angle/put stress on the keeper and defender, and 3) converted the goal. Where was that dudes’ mind?

Tyler doesn’t waste time on the ball when he ganks it. He sets the counterattack in motion immediately. The passes are precise and intentional. He is excellent at turning the ball over and putting the counterattack in an excellent position.

Just an excellent player. He stood out in this game. There wasn’t a more influential player out there.

What nonsense is this? Evanilson barely had time to get out of the way.

Haven’t seen any explanation. It was assumed he wouldn’t start.

Bournemouth escape with a last-gasp 2-1 win without Adams and will finish this weekend's fixtures in 8th place in the Premier League.

Tyler stole the ball 25 yards out and dribbled into the box while Evanilson was picking his nose.

Tyler was going to shoot no matter what.. he hit the ball right at the keeper and it bounced around. In hindsight... he should have just laid it off.. or...better yet.. just buried it in the back of the net.

Maybe not if Evanivisivilson creates an angle to receive the ball. Dude was picking daisies and then tried to act like he made the play. Total goob.

Tyler couldn't lay it off (as wixon suggested) because Evanilson was in an offside position. That said, there was no chance for Evanilson to get onside. He was pressuring the keeper who passed it out for Tyler to intercept.

Oh, I am aware of what Evanderstiltson was doing. He closed on the keeper and then lost the plot.

He needed to get his butt onside. He cost his team a goal.

He had over 3 seconds, all the while he is watching Tyler approach the goal and backpedaling. He even raises his hand for the pass despite being 100% unaware that he is offside.

Like many folks here, I played the game for a long time. Evandandernealson knows full well that it’s his responsibility to react quickly when the ball turns over and to get in a position to make a play. He didn’t react quickly enough. Not only did he negate a goal, but he made Tyler’s angle shrink dramatically by not putting both the defender and the keeper in two minds.

At that level, that kind of delayed reaction is the difference between a converted chance and an offside call, which we see play out very obviously in that scenario.

 It was 2 seconds from the moment he ended his lunge at the keeper's pass to Adams shooting. Yeah, he could've full on sprint in the opposite direction to try and get onside, but then he's not in a position to help running so fast in the opposite direction. Adams shoots that no matter what. He didn't steal it 25 yards out and dribble in (as you mentioned earlier) - it was 20 yards and his intercepting touch took it to the 10 yard line, where he shot with his second touch.

I thought Monday morning quarterbacking was a feature of another sport. This thread proves in wrong.

This and pretty much every player thread. You're just realizing this after 9 years?
