I suspect the surgery is something that has been looked at for sometime and now he decided to do it after last bout of pain. Hopefully it works.
When healthy and game fit he is likely the 2nd best YA in the world. I miss watching him play so badly. <fingers-crossed>
TYLER ADAMS RETURNS. US MIDFIELDER MAKES HIS FIRST PREMIER LEAGUE APPEARANCE SINCE MAY 11. A MOMENT FOR BOURNEMOUTH AND USMNT FANS TO SAVOR 🇺🇸💪 pic.twitter.com/PZPo787e7m— Men in Blazers (@MenInBlazers) October 26, 2024
Aston Villa grabbed a 1-0 lead at 76', and Adams entered for Bournemouth at 81' to lock things down. See the problem? Bournemouth draw level at 90+6'. See the solution? Plus one, baby! Finished 1-1.
Adams fit in nicely. Really didn't need to do much in his brief appearance, but he was tidy with the ball and held down his spot. His best moment was probably on a Villa break after a Bournemouth turnover. Bournmouth player with a tactical foul to try to stop the break, but it was unsuccessful and Villa sprung for the attack. Adams showed a good burst of speed to get to the outlet pass prior to the Villa player, shielding him from the ball and gaining possession. Play ended up coming back as the ref was playing advantage (which never materialized due to Adams), but it was a nice glimpse of what he can bring -- and great news that he was able to show that burst.
Three for three passing in nine official minutes of play, which included Bournemouth finding an equalizer to draw 1-1 with Aston Villa. Best of all Adams looked like his usual space-eating self. Important step forward. #usmnt— Jeff Carlisle (@JeffreyCarlisle) October 26, 2024
He’s been fine so far. Active but only challenged twice so far. Stopped Foden and fouled Doku for a yellow on the other. Well then he goes and wins the ball off Doku. Great play.
Ends 2-1. Adams and Bournemouth had to do a lot of last ditch defending in the end there but they held on.
