Not yet though there’s been some chatter they are interested in Edson Alvarez as the Rice replacement.

There are also reports West Ham is going after Conor Gallagher. I don’t know that they’d see Gallagher as a Rice replacement per se, but he’d be one of those expected to rebuild the West Ham midfield.

If he spends next season in the Championship, then he wasn't noticed enough.

I don’t know if they are as well sourced as this however.

West Ham haven't replaced Rice yet (and won't, he's un-replaceable) but obviously Tyler's current injury, and perhaps history of injuries, makes a current move impossible

Looks like Tyler is definitely in Leeds with the team (welcoming their new signing Ethan Ampadu, with whom he played at Leipzig).

Adams is a Ferrari and McKennie is a pickup truck. Whitey Herzog made a comparison like that about Babe Ruth who was never injured no matter what he ate (Whitey supposed because of what he ate) while two Cardinal pitchers were always injured and they were vegetarians. His theory was the Ferrari was so fine tuned that any major bump in the road caused a major problem while the truck didn't even notice.

He couldn’t play for any team if some fans on Twitter being rude to a teammate was a deciding factor.

Is Adams really going to say at this terrible club and play in the Championship? I can think of very few larger disappointments for a YA offseason than this, if that's the case.

He’s likely too injured to make a move.

Things are moving slowly at Leeds with a number of guys, including Jack Harrison, Willy Gnoto, Luis Sinisterra, and Illian Meslier. All of whom have been expected to move (Meslier may have no takers), and all are guys Leeds really wants to keep (similar to Adams).

    The New Chairman weighs in

Paraag Marathe's Tyler Adams message outlines Leeds United vision for next steps

    https://www.leeds-live.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/marathe-tyler-adams-leeds-united-27356864

    snip:

The new man at the top of the club has made it clear to Adams he wants him to stay and can see a vision with him in the Championship next season.

“There’s 2.4m people in Yorkshire and Leeds is the third largest city in the UK. There’s so much opportunity already. If a nice little by-product is I get the opportunity to see folks wearing Tyler Adams jerseys around the Bay Area, that’s going to be fantastic too.

“That’s not the goal though. The goal is to make it as special as it can be in the UK and it’s a movement. We all had a taste, those three years in the Premier League.

“It was fleeting and it sucked and I hated the fact we didn’t get to stay in there, but one thing it did show me is everyone talks about how Leeds belongs in the Premier League because it’s a big club. That’s true, but let’s all not forget to an equal degree, the Premier League needs Leeds because, call it whatever you want, the way we play, the history, the tenacity by which we play, which is just different from other clubs, the Premier League needs us.”

I'm no Leeds or PL scholar but from what I've read the rest of the PL would only want them so they have a common team to hate.

Looks like we have confirmation that Adams likely won’t be fit until after the start of the season (and the September international break, so after the transfer window closes). So it looks like he’ll be staying at Leeds for now.

Shields Gazette (allegedly one of the oldest newspapers in Britain?) reported that Adams was on Newcastle United's "longer list" of transfer target midfielders which was topped by Tonali, and the club is likely still tracking him to see if they can get him on a very cheap deal or a loan.

meanwhile, Wober is now on-the-move to Gladbach (and wasn't on the squad sheet for their friendly vs Monaco yesterday), Harrison and Firpo will join Adams on the treatment table until after the September international break, and Farke's statements are starting to sound more like "temper your expectations" than "we're going straight back up this season".

Hilariously, LUFC fans are STILL blaming Marsch for the position they're in...

DM is a position so integral to a team, it's not a good idea to go on a loan as one.

much better to go on loan for an unimportant position where there will be no motivation to even use the loaned player.

You're less likely to get minutes as a DM loanee. The club will have you as a backup and prefer to use the guy staying long-term.

Isn’t that true for any position? Why is a loanee DM less likely to get minutes compared to someone coming in to play as an 8, 9, or 10?

Unless they dont have a good DM and given its such a integral role they would be really motivated to play the better player.

I'd be interested if there was a sig difference in PT for loanees by position (except Keeper and maybe CF). Not a ton come to mind off hand, but Gilmour did fine for PT at Norwich Sarge's first year, IIRC (although he, like much of Norwich that season, was pretty crappy.) And Bakayoko has been loaned out more than a junkie's guitar and for sure played under Rino, although I think his Milan experience was less successful (although the Milanese around here would know better.) I do wonder if there's any real difference across positions. Seems to me there would not be, but it's possible, I guess.

I always hesitate to post Football Insider links because they feel like the kind of publication that is into spreading unsourced rumors in hopes that larger sites will link back to them as "a source" which juices their ad numbers, but "a well-placed source" is telling Football Insider that Tyler is pushing for a move away from Leeds: https://www.footballinsider247.com/...leeds-united-after-major-development-sources/

Tyler also posted a video of him training alone at LUFC's grounds:

If he's not pushing for a move out of Leeds, he needs to be checked for brain damage... If BA can go to Union, TA can find a better situation than the Championship (if healthy or close to it).
