I thought Bournemouth outplayed Brighton and were unlucky to not come away with at least an away point.
Glad VAR makes sure whether the goal should be allowed. And it only slowed the game down by 8 minutes to make the off-side call.
And now the ref with excellent off-ball play to block out Tyler and screen the keeper on that shot. Really brought his A game 1-1
This game is getting close to extra time. Kluivert and Outtara were brought on to try and get the winner. Adams had a giveaway after a corner that almost led to a dangerous doubter and Scott had to take a yellow card on a tactical foul.
Tyler with the strike from 25 yards, keeping it down. That would’ve been amazing if it had had gone in
All the players look a bit tired at halftime of ET, and therefore have been sloppy in play. I am actually impressed with how well Tyler has been holding up, still has some spring in his step.
ET is the last thing in the world AFCB needed. Seems like they have been managing a squad of 13 players for at least a couple months.
AFCB deserved it on the balance of things. I hope they get some players back from injury soon because this squad is too thin.
He's not a great ball-striker, so I imagine he's pretty far down the list of penalty takers. He hasn't taken one in a match since he was with the New York reserves in 2016 - has he ever taken one in a shootout? Edit: Quick look through TM and I don't think he has. So that's 8.5 years since he last took a penalty at any level.
Starting at Tottenham, late first half. Frantic backtracking by Adams forces Pedro Porro into a wayward pass, which springs a beautiful counter capped off by a perfect cross by Kerkez and a first-time finish at the far post by Tavernier. Adams won't get any statsheet credit for it, but the amount of space that he closed to throw off Porro was remarkable.
Bournemouth up 1-0 on a great counter. It will go mostly unnoticed, but Adams played a big part by busting his ass to cover ground to disrupt a Tottenham counter. Kerkez intercepts the bad pass that Adams forced and takes it all the way down the left wing and a perfect cross and great finish by Tavernier. Adams made up probably 10-15 yards to disrupt the pass. He’s been all over the place. Edit: ArsenalMetro beat me to it, so I guess I wasn’t the only one that noticed it
Bournemouth with a potential second goal on another great counter, but it is rightfully called off for Semenyo offside. He had no reason to be offside there, as the announcers point out.
You know it's a dumb challenge from the goalkeeper when you have the time to say "don't do it" three times before he actually commits the foul. Spurs with a penalty, chance to level it up with 10ish minutes to go.
Welp. That sucked. Two points dropped. Tottenham with a fair bit of possession but with practically no threat. Two goals out of nothing on keeper mistakes. Bournemouth dangerous on the counter but wasteful on a couple of chances (including on called back for an unnecessary offside). Adams played well. His usual self, super disruptive to the Tottenham attack and mostly kept it simple in possession. Big blow to the Cherries’ European dreams in one they’ll feel they deserved all three points.
His contract he got from Chelsea was one of the biggest player/agent robberies in history. Not bad, average at best and fine for mid-tier. But not elite
