Old thread was closed after he moved to Leeds, Leeds thread was a joint one for BA, Mckennie and Adams, so time for a new one. After months and months out with an injury, Tyler Adams is on Bournemouth's bench for their EFL Cup match vs Stoke: Here's our team for tonight's Carabao Cup game 👇 pic.twitter.com/91wQPQhyXM— AFC Bournemouth 🍒 (@afcbournemouth) September 27, 2023
No TV, so the best bet is Stoke's live blog: https://www.stokecityfc.com/match/first-team/2023-24/g2407907 0-0 and looking very boring through 25'
0-0 at halftime. Bournemouth grew into the match and had more chances, but it sounds very much like a snooze fest:
AFCB makes 2 half-time subs, but neither are Tyler. Both of the starting DMs remain on the field, so if all goes well we'll get a nice 10m cameo from our boy
Bournemouth uses a sub window to not sub in Tyler. One window with 2 subs remaining. It's still 2-0 and Stoke haven't recorded a shot on target.
Ladies and Gentlemen... we got 'em Welcome to the Cherries, Tyler 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/rFZkZc6avL— AFC Bournemouth 🍒 (@afcbournemouth) September 27, 2023
first 10' according to WhoScored: 5 touches, 2/5 passes, no tackles or interceptions. On the plus side, he has not gotten injured yet
Full time. Solid return to play for Tyler: 20' 2/2 tackles 6/8 passes 1 shot blocked 1 interception 1 foul drawn
On the bench vs Luton after being a surprise call-up for national team duty. If he gets to make an appearance today, lets hope it goes better than the last time this thread was active... Three changes from Saturday 🍒 pic.twitter.com/D2G50pE1qJ— AFC Bournemouth 🍒 (@afcbournemouth) March 13, 2024
Of note: this game has a black referee - Sam Allison - the first in the league since 2008. This is his second PL game of the season, his most recent also featuring Luton on Boxing Day.
edit: just kidding, Google's match tracker is coughing up reports from their previous encounter ... but worse than the match being abandoned is Luton going up 2-0 after 33'. Not looking great for a TA comeback today.
I’ve been watching this one. Luton is full of spirit and has been clinical on the counter. Bournemouth doesn’t have that same energy even though they have had more of the ball and some good chances. Luton looks like a team that’s committed to fighting relegation and Bournemouth looks like they can’t be arsed. Not sure what being down 3-0 does for Adams prospects of getting in the game. He’s a defensive minded sub. So, I wouldn’t think positively on it.
I mean, the old Tyler would prevent fires like this one from starting: me in real time: man he looks off but great barkley finishchris mepham: i got other ideas my man pic.twitter.com/mqaAxB9I9U— FML FPL (@FMLFPL) March 13, 2024 But hindsight is always 20/20, not sure how Iraola plans on trying to get them back into this one.
If it stays 3-0 late, then it's a good opportunity to get players match fitness regardless of position. In theory, at least.
goal stands, now 1 to 3. Off the restart, Bournemouth regains possession and almost score again off the counter.
A scramble from a corner results in the ball going over Luton's goal-line that is only confirmed by GLT. VAR reviewing, but as it stands its 3-2. Adam's minutes are back on the menu!
