According to Ives JCO has two European based players in his sights he also said we have two months. Does anyone have a clue as to who and what will happen if they sign after Jan. 31st? Will they have to wait al a David Beckham to appear and if that is the case is it worth it having these two players come in halfway through the season?

I believe that our transfer window closes at the end of March. Actually, someone posted recently that it closes on April 15th, but I'm not sure of the accuracy of that. Also, Beckham didn't come earlier because he wanted to finish out the season at Real Madrid (which ended in May, I believe), so after the transfer window closed, he and the Galaxy had to wait until July. Osorio has said that one of the players he was looking at plays in the French League. Also, he mentioned to someone at the Stout NYC meeting with the ESC that he had looked at an Italian, but that Italians were very expensive. Maybe the unknown Italian player's price came down.

Something I don't understand about what Osorio say is: He say that what he are looking for is only a Defender and a left wing, if he thing that this is the only players what the team need, he is very wrong, we urgent need a CAM, whit out a player maker to feed the ball to our striker we will be kaput before the start of the season...

Mets, I hate to say it but Osario has a guy named Caludio in mind for that position of attacking mid. I agree with you we do need another option and Claudio poobably should not be our playmaker.

We also, really, to be honest, have no idea what Osorio is looking for. Or who he's seen. Or who he has in mind.

Or who he thinks he's going to keep on the team. And therefore, how much cap space we have to sign new players...

He's already stated that he'd like an attacking midfielder, a left footed defender, and a left mid. So he knows what we need.

I think you are wrong here. Osorio, at least at home, seems to favor a 3-5-2 with reyna as one of the deeper two in the 3-man central midfield.

that is exactly right. i specifically asked him if that's the way he saw claudio playing in a 3-5-2 and he said yes. i suppose that could change, but that's what he said.

Hmm. We need a left footed defender and left footed midfielder. Osorio says he won't settle. He's looking at two European based players...

Damn! It's got to be John Arne Riise and Asier del Horno.

    Woo hoo!!!

All I am going to say is I would rather see Amado Guevarra out there playing for us then Reyna. Red Bulls can you please make a jaw dropping move, that will have the papers giving us atleast some what of a chance to compete with DC United. Becuase right now if the writers could they I think they would hand them the Supporters Shield and MLS Cup.

I dont care if its a big name or not as long as the guy tears it up and plays amazing.

Recoba would be great at A mid for Metro and Riise would be a dream for left mid. DOubt those guys are obtainable.

I'm very interested to see what Osorio comes up with cuz honestly Id rather have a lesser known lesser talented guy that could be with Metro for 3or more years that improves the team, than a huge name thats 38 39 years old who will leave next year.

Get a 27 26 yo that hustles his a** off and has some talent playing in a more competitive league, and I'll be fine with that.

Here is the part right from the regulations page on MLSnet.

    (B) TRANSFERS AND LOANS
An MLS player may be transferred or loaned at any time to a team outside the League. The registration windows - the dates between which MLS may request the transfer certificate of an international player are as follows:

    January 15 - April 15 (Primary Window)
    June 15 - August 15 (Secondary Window)

    http://ww2.mlsnet.com/about/league.jsp?section=regulations&content=overview

I know there is a lot of confusion about this all over BS so I figured I'd at least set the record straight in this forum (ok, this thread. maybe).

If we are going to a 3-5-2 we could use some different defenders. We may exposed here in the back.

I think the key here in his wording is "European Based" meaning most likely not European but I would guess S. American. If he is thinking of France as a place does anyone know any mid-level team with a decent mid-fielder and or defender from S.A.?

no question about that...a new CB is just as important as LM and CAM...

Elkin Soto for left-mid? Seems like a possibility.

Thats wht I thought but Mainz is about to get promoted, so it might be hard to pry him from the Bundesliga.

He doesnt run enough anymore, well last time I saw him, he was only into playing offense, Osorio said he wants a two wingback. I dont think "EL Sultan" fits the mold.
