Isn't it already sold out? I know there are resale tickets available but hasn't the team sold what they had?
SRO but tons of resales available. A few games ago, they sold SRO tickets, but the attendance was like 18-19k. A sellout it will be, breaking the record. I expect a grumpy nordecke, and I will be one of the grumps.
No Im just guessing for real , seems like we have. But if you sell the tickets and everybody doesn’t show up is debatable for sure.
OSU game is at 3:30PM, and will be over by 3:40PM. Plenty of time to hit both for people inclined even if they want to stay for most if not all of the OSU game. Will be packed and should be a great atmosphere to wrap up the season. Hope for a win, but odds are a tie.
Saturday's game is also Fall night of champions (finalist for various youth tournaments are invited to buy tickets and get a shirt and a photo on the field).
Since it clearly wasn’t a racial slur, how soft does this make the league look if he’s getting suspended for calling somebody the C-word (or something in that vein)?
Are we sure the Timbers player didn't mishear his nickname. Also this MLS suspends Columbus' Cucho Hernández one game for "offensive language" in the Sept. 18 game vs. Portland. The league also says: "Hernández was not provided with the league-mandated training on prohibited language that is required of all players upon arrival to an MLS team."— Jonathan Tannenwald (@thegoalkeeper) September 29, 2022
Also does this mean Rowe will be called into action and unavailable for crew 2. Did porter make an anonymous complaint to the league office to help Courtois lose on Sunday? Conspiracy!
mother ********er it's a pretty important game to be suspending one of our best players Just read Cucho's statement. Dang. What an awful time to do something so inappropriate.
Cucho Hernandez suspended for Columbus Crew for offensive language (dispatch.com) "I accept the outcome of the league’s ruling and sincerely apologize for the harmful language I used during our recent match against the Portland Timbers," Hernandez said. "I understand that my language was unacceptable and plan to reach out to the Timbers organization and the player to offer my apologies and fully intend to learn from this situation. I also apologize to my teammates and our fans as this is a critical time of the season." Doesn't exactly make it sound like it's a phantom charge.
I'm sure everyone's wondering what exactly he said, and to whom it was said. I'm more curious about WHEN it was said, and how it was detected. I mean, if it's so bad that it warrants a suspension, it would have been bad enough to warrant a red card if it had been heard, I would think. Was it after the match? I can imagine someone being frustrated enough to let fly with something ugly and regrettable after that ending.
I just read a tweet thread from Matt Bernhardt, and he mentioned Robbie Rogers and David Testo at the end of it, so that checks.
If he said a bad word in English maybe he could avoid a suspension. It’s that word banned in every league ?
I had no idea that this even existed. I would suspect that a lot of people don't, because there's not much reason to know about it until there's a reason to know about it. But how was this missed? This seems like just one more thing they dropped the ball on.
