The obvious first question is why Clark was chosen especially in view of the fact that he was benched for 2 games as a result of the debacle play in the England game that once again conceding the US an early goal. He was certainly not missed in the two subsequent games and his replacements of Edu and Feilhaber did just fine. Questions 2: In view of the fact that the pairing up of Altidore and Findley did not produce a single goal in any of the games why wasn’t a chance given to the idea of pairing up Buddle and Gomez upfront. Let me remind the readership that Altidore scored just a single goal at Hull and that Findley so far this year at RSL has yet to score a goal. On the other hand Buddle has had a hot streak at the Galaxy where he has already scored 9 goals not to mention that he combines well with Dononan and that he scored 2 goals in the Australia game. Likewise Gomez who plays for Pachuca is tied with another Mexican player for the most Goals scored in the Mexican League. Unless some honest and valid answers are given to the aforementioned questions otherwise these decisions is tantamount to poor judgment that possibly caused the US an early exit of the World Cup.
I think 99.9% of the people following the USMNT had the same question as you did. Why Clark if the Edu, Bradley combo showed was the best after the previous games. And I think it is true no matter who they play. Questions 2. 98% of the people were with you about putting Buddle in there. But I think he and Altidore would have been a better combo. And you are right Bradley has shown poor judgement time after time.
And I notice that there wasnt much discussion on who should be starting 11 for the game against Ghana. Because it was obvious who should have started, Bradley, Edu combo, and Altidore and Buddle Combo. I think the only question out there was either to keep the same back 4 or to used Gooch. buy other then that it was obvious.
