The article on his return puts his time-line at "one of these days" which does not seem as definitive as I'd expected given the number of related posts... But I think it's safe to say he thinks he's returning to group training soon-ish.

Pierie back in training for about 10 days now. didn't make the squad for the weekends spanking of Vitesse. Meanwhile, JAB teammate being linked as a possible LB for Twente next season. I can't remember if they officially extended the loan or if there was just talk of it. Not sure he's got a (near at least) future at Ajax until he gets a lot more games. Probably going to have to move this summer if he can.

Pierie hoped to be back this week but coach pushed him off a bit longer. He did play a (short-sided? or scrimmage) game in practice, apparently, and came through fine. (machine-translated, but readable.) Last I heard they were still talking about a loan extension and possible permanent move to Twente. Not sure if the loan extension is official yet.

Unfortunately, the game comes too early for the other central defender Kik Pierie. He himself hoped to be part of the competition selection, but Jans does not fully agree with that. “It's actually going really well. He played half an hour on Monday and you really have to work with these small games. He was on the winning team, but he also did well individually. The match selection is still a bit too early, but it is really going in the right direction.”

(twente down 2-1 late in the game, btw, They are 5th in the ered rn, about 9 pts out of a Europe spot

I wonder if ‘visit Mexico’ is on his bucket list.

DNP as Twente beat Beerholder alma mater and new Pride of the Frysk, Cambuur 1-0. Good to see him dressed again at least.

Any chance Kik changes allegiances to the US before next WC? Doubt he would make our squad though.

"Defender Kik Pierie and midfielder Wout Brama were both fit to make the substitutes' bench last time out and the pair will be in contention to feature on Friday."

But no, not even on the bench today ...

Pierie off the bench in the 80th minute as part of a defensive formation change to preserve a lead against Feyenoord (Bassett came on in the 85th). Pierie had a crucial defense of a header on Feyenoord's last big chance, but mostly just waited deep for the pressure to come.

Future at Ajax not looking bright (Surprise!)

Lisandro Magallán and Kik Pierie do not have to count on playing a significant role at Ajax next season

    Starts a friendly today:

Ajax beat the German 3rd side 3-0. Guessing Pierie played the half, but didn't bother to look. Hansen and Rasumussen the goal scorers.
