Does anyone know if Taylor is slated to get a start for the Nat's anytime soon?

    Cheers!

I'll bet TT sees more p/t in tonight's match than he did against the Argies. I would be pleasantly surprised if he starts, though.

Fans from Dallas are mumbling as to why Suarez didn't get a start after Victorine went out. While I'd like to see Ryan getting a cap, I'm one of the many who want to see one of the nicest guys on the Burn stay healthy for a long MLS season.

Twellman, on-the-other-hand, can handle the work rate, AND has the intangibles that the US side needs.

I'd be seriously questioning BA's decision making capabilities if he didn't give Taylor a 'real' look as the US striker of choice. Twellman has the 'magic', and he needs a few games starting to prove it.

    Cheers!

Haven't seen much magic out of him at all - if anything, he looks more confused out there than any of them. I hope he turns it around because I'm all for US success, but I am not on the bandwagon yet.

That's right, my quote said "a few STARTS to prove it"... yep.

    Cheers!

you don't see what he does. He opens space up in the offensive half better then most players. Like Stone kept saying, he had 3 guys on him cuz Argentina knows how dangerous he is when he gets the ball. He still managed to get a shot off with two guys on him (although it was deflected). Twellman can't don it by himself, he needs someone like Ralston to help out the production. When they start feeding balls to him like the revs did, you'll see the magic.

I think Cunningham got in the game instead of Twellman because Cunningham had family and friends at the game. From match tracker, it appeared that Cunningham accomplished his usual nothing.

One goal from a defender, the other from the right wing. Nothing from the forwards. Twellman could have done at least that well.

I don't get this high praise for Twellman over Cunningham. Big deal he's high scorer in MLS, remember that so was Cunningham once. Twellmans' a poacher, Cunningham has speed and one or two moves. They have both looked pretty anemic so far in the National Team. In fact, I think Cunninghams' actually seen more of the ball than Twellman. I'm not sold on either of them.

    Stinky:

If you don't want to hear praise for Twellman, then perhaps you should avoid the Revs boards. We Revs fans watched him all last year and saw what he can do. He's much more an all-around player than Cunningham, who has one asset -- speed -- with which he does little that is effective.

That's not the type of player he is. If that's a requirement, then it's not going to happen. But Arena seems to see reason to give him a long look, and he knows what he's all about.

Cunningham can create, but not finish.

Donovan made a clever misdirection cross Twellman's way against Arg., but it carried too far. That's the kind of ball that Twellman finishes, so it's entirely feasible that Donovan's and Mathis' creative passes can lead to Twellman goals. It's a matter of finding the chemistry. Against Argentina, they were clearly overmatched, so there was very little offensive opportunity for anyone (a lot of the problem was the failed Olsen experiment, along with a poor effort from Mathis).

Nice to see Ralston get a game, though, and to hear BA's comments about how good Steve's been in training.

    I didn't say I didn't want to hear it, I said I don't understand it.

I'm glad TnT didn't play. Sounds like the usual crap midfield preformance and it would have ment no service again for him. It's OK that we haven't had a goal from a forward since Canada and nobody is calling for fat boy and Donovan to sit down but TnT is under intense pressure to produce everytime he gets on the field.

He'll be better off if he doesnt' play until the midfield improves.

Don't what him to use up his "chances" before he even gets a good pass

Yeah, not that I would want an 'all NE' side, but if we had Ralston spreading the d wide and feeding Taylor, we'd see more production...

... and a LOT more to cheer about!
