Revs' Twellman out for Saturday's game FOXBORO, Mass. — New England forward Taylor Twellman, the top scorer in the MLS regular season, will miss the Crew's playoff game Saturday against Columbus because of a sprained right knee. Twellman limped off in the 74th minute Wednesday night during New England's 1-0 road victory in the second game of the first-to-five-points playoff. He's scheduled to have an MRI Friday morning. The Revolution, which leads the series 4-1, can secure a place in the championship against Los Angeles with a victory or draw Saturday at Gillette Stadium, the site of MLS Cup 2002 on Oct. 20. This should hurt the Revs but they will still advance.
That's a bummer. I'm a Crew fan but for some reason I'm pulling for NE. I'd like to see the NE fans rewarded for their loyalty, plus a filled up stadium on TV would look nice for a change.
Remind me not to turn my back on you. With Twellman out, this is going to be fun watching the Revs pack the D even more while the Crew brain fart in the 18 for 90. Are you ready for some Bunker Ball?!
geez that guy is not a real crew fan...... now its like climbing a mountain for the crew... they MUST achieve a victory over ne on their house... pretty dificult to me.....
Yes please, do take it outside will ya. If it makes you feel any better, I'll root for our team in the Open Cup Final, I may even show up at the game, its a tolerable drive. I'll make myself a sign -- "Hey I'm the Crew Traitor, pelt me with brats and cotton candy." Oops I almost forgot, Go REVS!
Hehe, whats with Crew Fans anyway? Get a nice cozy stadium and then lay claim to everything MLS. Check the forum header zippy.
, Dunseth should be out for that hack on Twellman coupled with the yellow the ref did show him on one of his many other hacks
I like to pull for the home team. I get a kick out of the fans enjoying the game. When I watch an MLS game (or USL or whatever) on TV and my kid comes in and asks who I'm rooting for I almost always say the home team. If its an international thats a whole different story, I hate anybody who plays against the US. In 96 I was all Crew, been there in person a few times -- still love em but right now I like to see the league do well as a whole. The Crew have a good thing going, the stadium, attendance etc and its nice to maybe see others get a little glory.
