Had the Revs kept Diallo, what would have happened to Twellman's season? Could Diallo's ego have survived Twellman's ability and popularity? I doubt it. Diallo was already beginning his pouting routine before he was traded. It would have just gotten worse.

I hate to talk about team "chemistry," but Diallo is an egotistical cry-baby who detracts from rather than adds to a team.

Shep Messing, on the Metros broadcast, reportedly observed the major difference between Diallo and Twellman last night. Twellman was dynamic, always making runs to get into damaging positions. Diallo was static, trying to take on defenders and flopping at every opportunity.

We need to give Diallo his due. He is a certain kind of player and very, very good at that role. He needs a supporting cast to feed him through balls and set him up with crosses. TT is a different kind of player but he, too, needs the kind of support that he gets from Wolde, Ralston, etc.

From the first match that they played together it was clear that Diallo and Twellman operated at cross purposes and would eventually just get in one another's way. It is a tribute to Wolde that he could accomodate moving from striker to setup man. MaMa couldn't, nor, to be fair, can Taylor.

From a fan's point TT is more fun to watch than Diallo. Is he a better player? I'm not sure but that is what makes football so interesting. On the right team Diallo would be both devestating and an asset.

I disagree, I think Twellman could move to that role. His 6 assists are testament to that.

It would be a waste of talent I think but he could do it.

yes, a very one-dimensional,bad one. No combinations, no passing, no defense. If you enjoy that I guess Big Mama is your man!!

or Ruiz; I wanted to slap him even harder than I wanted to slap Big Mama... neither one of them is willing to create for others, but p*ss and moan when their service is less than perfect. A couple of classless clowns...

I just can't support a player like that, points or no.

Serna put up pretty decent numbers in Miami, but his whining and diving/dirty play (I see it practically mirrored in Ruiz) made me dislike him immensely. Even after he became a Rev, I couldn't support him. So I'm certainly not about to embrace a Galaxy player with such crappy attributes.

but back to Mama. I think he has been exposed- not just for the jerk he is, but for the mediocrity of his play.

He is still very dangerous to shoot or pass when he wants to be, espeically in a counter-attacking style.

    Good riddance

I don't see how Diallo can succeed in MLS.7 or any league of reasonable quality unless he is willing to incorporate himself into the team, and work for his teammates. I suspect he's been told this, but doesn't care. I think Serna's a similar problem.

The most interesting part of this is that they are the same people that ate up the league a couple years ago. The league bypassed them - not because of their physical talent but their attitude.

I think Mama's problems are mental, not physical. He has speed, size, and strength. He is a good to very good passer.

But his attitude is lousy. He pouts all the time. He's selfish and lazy. He complains constantly and criticizes his teammates openly during the game (e.g., Andy Williams in the last game).

Maybe he should go to a country where he can't speak the language. At least his teammates couldn't understand what he was saying. Unfortunately, his body language says enough, so that won't work either.

He speaks about 9 languages as it is. It reminds me of what Gordie Howe once said when someone asked him if he was bilingual and could do an interview with a Quebec TV station: "All athletes are bilingual. They speak their own language, and profanity."

I think he is an awful passer. He can not complete a short simple pass. He has one pass-with the outside of his foot, long-that is it, period.
