off the top of my head Drama Mad men- drama set in 60 ad execs life, cultural revolution etc. Boardwalk empire - al capone, lucky luciano and mayer lansky in their 20s vs old guard!!!!!! Treme - cultural/katrina/new orleans version of the wire, full of culture and colour Sopranos - a mob boss' views on life, IMO the best show ever Comedy Louie - Louis CKs is a middle aged divorced stand up comedian, very different than your average comedy Childrens hospital - spoof of of all the drama hospital shows, nothing like scrubs, but 1000x funnier Archer - cartoon about inept spy and his mothers agency, fantastic *Don't watch the killing, it became a weekly chore for me
Saw Boardwalk Empire. Saw 1/2 of Sopranos, but had to stop (I know, weird). Didn't like Archer very much. I was thinking either Justified, Sons of Anarchy, Six Feet Under, Pushing Daisies, Weeds.
watch the rest of sopranos, justified is getting praised left and right, gotta check it out myself, havent seen SOA but know a few people who are obsessed six feet under is good, weeds is ok, wanna see pushing daisies

Just finished GoT myself - very good and got stronger. Always find the great shows hard at the start as the characters have depth and you can't neatly pigeonhole them which makes it a challenge to understand the motivations. That show could end up as one of the greats. Working through sopranos now on hbogo - two seasons in and it's pretty good. Did you try The Wire yet, think you said before you saw it but if not it's fantastic. How about sic-fi stuff? Thought the new version of battlestar was superb and I have been meaning to blitz Babylon 5 again at some point (another series that was allowed to complete it's arc).
I downloaded the Wire, but haven't started it yet. Not a huge SciFi fan, but heard good things about BSG and Fallen Skies. I like Sopranos until about Season 4, then just gave up. Don't know why. And I love Gangster movies.
Well definitely try Wire next if you have it because if you like it it's good for a few weeks. But like I said about the great ones it'll take time for it all to start making sense, but seriously good and the constant addition of strong new characters keeps it fresh throughout. Plus you'll appreciate pete's wire gifs all the more
i really dont agree much with bill maher, but hes pretty damn funny, especially new rules, gonna record that tonight
anyone else saying "why am i watching this show" every week whilst watching weeds like the killing, its become a weekly chore cannot wait for second season of Boardwalk to fill the void
Bit disappointed by the Entourage finale. Just once can a TV show finish with an unexplained explosion and then black screen it?
lulz, What else were you going to do on Sunday nights? I didn't know until recently the show was filmed in Vancouver, B.C. I thought for sure it was Seattle as it had that creepy, Twilight vibe with the sun barely coming out. Hell on Wheels apparently was filmed in Canada as well. I can't wait for that one to start. Looks very visual, very Leone-esque like Breaking Bad.
Entourtage is so fecking stupid. to quote Elaine - "All I know is that it's Sunday night, and I have got to unwind!" which means watch other shows that good, will not be wathing the second season of the killing, but ill def be tuning in to mad Mad Men every sunday hell on wheels, we'll just have wait and see what its all about
Yeah, besides Gus walking out of the room. That was just goofy. However, from an artistic standpoint, I can see why they did that.
REEEEAAALLLLY? [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u70EYe4vy8U"]Kyle's "Really!?" from South Park - YouTube[/ame] It was outstanding.
This season of Dexter has been somewhat disappointing so far. The Walking Dead is just plain awesome.
