I figure that Bell or Rogers will charge up to $10/month to get RTPi, but I may just as well get the dish set up and get it for free. No sense in paying for something when you can just get it for nothing...
Exactly. This is good for people who have digital and are willing to pay a monthly fee for this extra channel. FPTV is currently at $14.95, so I imagine a provider like Rogers would price RTPi similarily. This motion is for digital tv only...so RTPi will not get on regular cable. Cable is the domain of "Canadian Content". The dish signal is free, all you have to do is buy the dish and receiver.

I just wanted to give everyone an update on the SL 2005/06 season on TV: For those of you in the US, SPT will continue to broadcast the games. I believe that they are entering year 2 of a 3 year agreement. This was confirmed by a rep at SPT. For us Canadians, things don't seem as clear as they do in the States. FPTV sort of hinted at the fact that they will boadcast the next SL season as they did this season (full season on Bell ExpressVu PPV, selected games a week on FPTV), but will not confirm anything until July - or so they say. A lot will hinge on the arrival of FPTV into the Bell ExpressVu package, which may be happening shortly, as their exclusive deal to be on Rogers is coming to an end. If FPTV gets into the Bell line-up, we may see all games on FPTV similar to what they do in the US on SPT. Wait 'til they get 3 calls a week from me, then they'll spill the beans sooner! Nonetheless, it looks like a good bet that the SL will be beamed into homes all across North America in 2005/06!

I skimmed through their site and could not see the game listed, however even if they end up showing the match, RTPi is a lock to show it. As an aside, RTP had no control over the content shown in the match against Estonia. They were not the station producing the feed, so even though the hino was not seen in its entirety, I do not think that RTP could be blamed for that...
TUESDAY, June 14 FOX SOCCER CHANNEL World Youth Championship EGYPT-ARGENTINA (live), 11:30 am. World Youth Championship USA-GERMANY (live), 2:30 pm.

Yes, Actually I need to get ANY channel that shows more soccer. All I have now is TSN (which only shows UEFA Champions League) Sportsnet (Major Tournaments) and RTPi. Actually, there is a channel called FOX Sports World Canada that is available for us in Canada (Pay Extra). I thought that was the channel you guys were talking about. They show mostly soccer and Rugby. I was unaware that there is a "FOX Soccer Channel"? I am not sure if it is avaialble in Canada (I don't think so Anyways, I would take anything I can get! The More soccer the better!
Bars have Fox Soccer Channel in Canada (or atleast the feed for certain games) the UEFA CUP final was FSC intrestingly enough on the news report before the game said the game would only be shown in the states? meaning Canadian households wouln't be able to see it. As far as I know we got Fox Sports World Canada not FSC but it's virtuyally the same (although from what I saw at the bar FSC is really cool in it's presentation and lineup)
