http://www.sjearthquakes.com/press_box/games_calendar.htm Six road games on Fox Sports Bay Area, two on KICU Action 36, three on espn2, two in the Shootout Package, and two road games unaccounted for.
I guess 2 games will not be shown at all. And the other two will only be available to the Shootout Package. Unfortunately it looks like one of these 4 games are vs Galaxy.
Yeah, the front page at www.sjearthquakes.com says that two games will be on the Shootout Package, but the link that says "More" on that article goes to an interview with Pat Onstad. The schedule page does not say which two of the four missing games will be on the Shootout Package. Ah, I remember the olden days of 2000 when we used to gather up around the computer and listen to a grainy webcast of a non-televised game in Dallas...
No, actually, two out of fifteen sucks balls. We are going backwards from the last two years where all the road games were on TV. I don't want to have to gather around the computer to listen to a crappy webcast. I like the news about Fox Sports World and HDNet but I would rather be able to see all the road games.
Get DirecTV and have all the KICU you can want - assuming the Bay Area local package is available to you.
Perhaps some or all the road games that are currently not scheduled to be televised will be added to the broadcast lineup later, even if only by tape-delay?       GO EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Re: Re: TV schedule announced I think, if I read the email right, all of the road games are to be broadcast on AM 910-KNEW. Better than a crappy internet broadcast.
got the DISH and still cannot get local...only get pinche LA stations..... just another reason to get into the bars and watch the games....
If you'd rather go to the bars, okay, but you can call DishTV and tell them that you want to get the local stations and they will come out and install another antenna (for free, no additional cost to what you are paying already).
WhooHoo!!!!! Comcast in Mountain View is going to carry the MLS Shootout package for 49.00. Thanks be to the power of pestering I talked to some guy at the head office who said he played for the El Salvador national team for 10 years, so he wouldn't lie to me, right? This might just fill in those missing Quakes games
Good for you, BK! The power of making a nuisance out of one's self is not to be underestimated. I just hope that Comcast gives you better service than what AT&T did for me two years ago. They should, they're bragging about having a much wider range of programming than AT&T (of course, the range of programming was not the problem).
Well it's far from perfect and certainly not as good as a few years ago when Lynn whatever the GM was here and all the games including the home games were on TV. But it's still pretty darn good. A few random thoughts: - the first game is tape delayed at 8pm as had been previously posted on soccertv.com, which seems to always be accurate. - I'm glad Schrader and Doyle are back. I unlike most really like Doyle. I think we all agree that Schrader has gotten pretty good. - The radio broadcast is interesting. It's just picking up the TV audio. Better than nothing.
Re: Re: Re: TV schedule announced The radio wrinkle is definitely a plus, in terms of public perception, and so much more. But I have a question... Will KNEW provide a streaming webcast link for the games as well? Not even sure if they have a website, and if they don't, that would be a damn shame (pardon me for what seems like a dorky question, but remember, I have been away from San Jose for quite a while now)...
I'm sure the KNEW broadcasts will be handled like a simulcast since "Shrad" and Doyle are doing the voicework. That will be great...just that John will have to be a little more detailed in his call of the action to paint that mental picture for those on radio. I think the addition of radio is OUTSTANDING!!! (...and if Shrader ever finds that doing a simulcast is too demanding, I'll be happy to "come out of retirement" and take the radio p-b-p post!!)
I like Doyle, too. From my previous posts there may be some who think I don't like Doyle, but he gives an insider/player perspective that is very good. I think some people get upset with him because of the way he defines what a defender has to do and that doesn't gibe well with their ideas. I also love his fractured pronunciations, which at times are priceless. Can you say: "Kate Sombrero?"
I'm glad they even said the majority of the away games would be on tv. Last season was crap having to come online and read the fasttrak thing or whatever it was called. TRANSFORM MARI
Will Telemundo be picking up any games I wonder? I remember several years back (maybe the second MLS season) our games where broadcast on the radio and I would listen to a game on the radio and view it on Telemundo simutaneously. I think it was Telemundo anyway. That would be cool! I wonder if the QUAKES always make it public knowledge that a game will be on Telemundo? I suppose they would, but I don't know.
Last year 100% of the Earthquakes' regular season away games were on local TV or ESPN2. This year only 11 of 15 will be.
Telemundo is not showing MLS this year. The only Spanish MLS broadcasts this year will be on Fox Sports World Espanol, which will show the same games as Fox Sports World.
Re: Re: Re: Re: TV schedule announced According to this website, KNEW does not have internet streams. http://www.socceraudio.com/ But check out DC United's setup? Even though it claims to be "inconsistent," it looks like it may be something: "In addition to radio broadcast, live audio streaming for all MLS matches will be available at the club website." edited to add: So Noah, does this look at all promising?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: TV schedule announced I think that's just for DC United, though, and not across the board for the entire league. Who knows, as far as the Quakes and KNEW are concerned, maybe something will change soon, who knows?
