Fox SW means Brad Sham and Davis Dir. Unless Sham had to go to Oxnard with the Cowboys. That in my book is a good thing.
IMPORTANT TV NOTE Tonight's games will be another FSN Southwest "alternate" game. Those of you in north Texas with cable will get it on your usual FSN station. Those of you in south Texas will get the Astros game instead. If you've got satellite anywhere in Texas, you'll get it on one of the regional network alternate stations (channel 644 on DirecTV and channel 445-450 on DISH), with the Rangers game in Anaheim to follow at 9:00. And if you've got Direct Kick anywhere, you'll get it.
and if you're living in South Texas and get screwed, there's always the yahoo broadcast of the game: http://www.mlsnet.com/MLS/sights/
I did this on Saturday when I couldn't make the game. It was pretty decent....a little fuzzy....but not bad. That was until we scored the 5th goal and all of a sudden the transmission got switched to the KC-LA game.....which was on FSW anyway. That kind of sucked, but the game was over at that point. But if that had happened earlier, or in a tight game, I would have had to personally destroy anyone connected with yahoo broadcast. I'm looking at you Mr. Cuban.
And if you have Directv you cross your fingers that they don't black it out on 644, like they did a few games ago.
but DISH PVR doesn't have TiVO's Season Pass (TM) -- Season Passes RULE for the memory-challenged such as myself.
For DirecTV people (like me)- The SJ game that got blacked out just got moved- no kidding. It was supposed to be on 644, the alternate FSSW, but that channel disappered at kickoff time. In desperation, I ran up to the 700's (I think) where the Direct Kick channels are. I don't have Direct Kick, but I got the game on that channel. Who knows if it will be that way again, but for DirecTV people try FSSW, then the alternate FSSW (I think it's 644), then go up past the MLB PPV to the MLS PPV and try there. Can't promise anything, but it worked last time.
Since this is a road game it shouldnt be blacked out. But keep the Directkick channels in mind just in case
Well I have had both Direct TV and DISH and the DISH was way better in my book. Far bigger selection of games. but then I like digital cable with e PVR even better.
I've had both DirecTV and DISH in the past year, and DirecTV has a much DVR. In fact, I would sooner use a standalone single-tuner TiVo with DISH than use one of their crappy DVRs. Yeah, DISH offers GolTV, but if you're a married guy like me, you don't really have much of a problem with Fox Sports World and Direct Kick not fulfilling all of your soccer viewing needs.
A PVR is NOT a Tivo any more than a Taurus is a Mercedes. All Tivos are PVRs, but only Tivo is Tivo. Can you tell I'm on this wagon?
