Yeah, I hadn't thought of that. Maybe it is just for the playoffs.

So will having RTPi be enough this year? They usually play 2 of the big three every weekend. I checked this weekend, and their guide is all messed up, it doesn't match up with what it says when I log into dish and look at it there. More importantly, they have no games this weekend, no matter where you check the guide. Is it time to drop the channel?

I believe RTP will NOT show any games this year, because they lost the rights to TVI.

Thanks Forca, I just changed my Dish all around, I don't want to pay more, but I only had RTPi, so I had to drop that, and something else, to add the 25 dollar Luso package. Kind of a pain in the but, until they can find a way to stream them over the internet straight to my hard drive. :)

I'm watching Sport TV right now on Dish, if I sign up for the Luso Pack, is it part of the package? It's not listed in the pack.

LOL - the Sport TV Americas channel is essentially the PPV package that Bell is offering - for $329 + tax...

The channel went live yesterday so I guess Dish Network hasn't yet updated their website but apparently it's being added to the Luso Pack at no extra charge. You Americans are lucky bastards!!!

If this is true, I'm truly bummed. I have Comcast cable, so maybe I'm not dead in the water. What is the name of the channel I need to see the games. Is it Sport TV? Is that what it's exactly called?

    Thank you very much!!!!

Comcast has something called SPT. Is this it? Looks like it. This is what the Comcast website says about SPT....

SPT delivers live television programs from the leading Portuguese network in Portugal, SIC International. SIC International retransmits its signal to all the Portuguese communities throughout the world. Programming highlights include family entertainment shows, news broadcasts, and sporting events. SPT also has exclusive rights to broadcast all games from the Portuguese Soccer League (SuperLiga) in the U.S. featuring over 150 games throughout the season. In addition, SPT provides local programming targeted to the Portuguese community living in the United States.

Yup, 24.99 for SPT, RTPi, SIC Noticias, Euro News, Porco TV and SportTV Americas. I call this a steal

I could be wrong but can't you get the Luso Pack via Dish Network for $24.99 and pay an additional $6 in lieu of having a basic package? Can any of our American friends confirm this?

Well that statement was true up until the introduction of Sport TV Americas, which went live only yesterday. Heck, even Dish Network doesn't have Sport TV Americas listed on their website yet!

milequatro has posted the following in the Clubes section

I'm still researching for news, but nothing yet. As a consolation for now the Sporting game is on SPT and RTPi; the Benfica games is scheduled live on ESPN3.com

    Well,

I ordered the Luso and shut off my a la carte RTPi yesterday, I can't get Benfica TV (i almost care), and the other channel in the 700s, because I need a FOURTH lnb on my roof, they will install it tomorrow. Funny thing, my dvr picked up on my global search from last year for "Liga Sagres" and will be recording the Sporting game from SPRT-TV. SPRT-Americas still has nothing in it's listings, but I am watching Porto right now live. The picture is SD, I asked yesterday, and the manager of the tech on the phone told me they don't know if they will be adding the HD stream, or even if SPRT-A will become part of Luso (how could it not?). Just a heads up on what I am hearing and seeing, hope you all have some way of watching the matches!

How is the picture quality on SPRT-A for you? I think its awful, very low res, reminds me of Setanta Sports, might even be worse.

If that other channel in the 700's is EuroNews, check channels 900-901 it might be there.

It reminds me of how sporttv and rtpi were in about 2006 when they first came to dish, very bad, when the cameras move, its hard to watch. I hope it gets better.

Forca, I have euronews at 900, thanks, still no benfica tv, so they need to put up the lnb, even if I never watch it, if I am paying for it, I want it on there...

Are they charging you for that? Dish wanted me to pay $100 (plus $15 for installation) for the new dish so I could get Benfica TV. I told them to go fly a kite.
