Why is that such a dirty trick? Turkeys coach Senol Günes could have read all about how England trained in the sportssection of The Guardian today.

I somehow doubt that Gunes would just happen to pick up a copy of the guardian and read about the training session..
Reading about the session is one thing...But actually seeing a video is another thing.
A video would reveal any secret ideas that england had planned.. formation ,team selection ,set pieces,etc.....

Why do you think national teams train behind closed doors??? so the opposition cant see what they have planned...
Anyway..at least sven knows that the turks have been spying..maybe he can make afew changes.

You have got a point sinner_ronald_monk, but I really doubt Sven is going to come up with some revolutionary new tactics for tomorrows game. He has pretty much stuck to the same players and tactics since he became Englands coach.

Do you think this could be another April 1st joke?

It had better be a joke.
but if it is a true story than lets hope Gunes didnt get much information from the video.

sinner makes a good point in that the confident Turks have been braggin non-stop about how they are going to beat us etc etc etc yet they still seem to find it necessary to spy on our training sessions. If they're that good then why bother?

Here are a couple of quotes from their in-no-way-arrogant players:

"We beat all the best teams at the World Cup and nearly beat Brazil. Turkey are the best team in Europe." - Alpay, non-playing Aston Villa defender.

"Aston Villa are part of an English conspiracy. They have not been playing me deliberately so I am out of form for the game against England. But we ar still too good for them." - that fella Alpay again.

"We are not scared of England or worried about them at all? Why should we be? We are the team who finished third in the World Cup and should have won. They should be scared of us." - Tugay, Blackburn defender.

OK, so they have a right to be confident as they are the in-form team.

But can you imagine if an England player came out with crap like that prior to an international? All the same tedious old 'arrogant' nonsense would be trotted out again quicker than you can say "Didn'tbeatanydecentteamsontheirwaytothesemifinal".

Yeah the turks have been doing alot of talking in the last few weeks..
    alot of big talk.....

they reached the semi's with wins over china ,japan and senegal...
I reckon that any half decent outfit could reach the semi's playing those teams..

You are not talking about the game at all my friend. Just look at your last post. All you are doing is for the purpose of putting down the Turkish soccer. Just try to be objective and and acnowledge the fact that Turkey's squad is in a better form than the English right now.

Braggin about a soccer game is one thing and talking crap about a team is another.

Raise your hand if you think England has any soccer ideas, secret or otherwise, worth stealing these days.

Turkey are definitely in better form than England, I haven't seen anyone deny that. They are a very good side.

But their arrogance based on one good World Cup is absolutely staggering.

WTF is the turk talking about bragging
sinner_ronald_monk mentioned how THE TURKISH PLAYERS WERE BRAGGING, he wasnt saying oh ENgland are gonna thrash turkey or something like that, you've got to read the message first before talking. and frankly i like hearing the turks brag, i do not want to mention comparisons to a certain game in september 2001 in munich but maybe, all i know is we need to be at our best for a good turkish side.

Sinner, lest you forget, the lads struggled agains Macedonia, the Aussies and superpower Lichetenstein. This is no slight on England, but more of a defense on the Turks. They are a good team and beating the Japs and Senegal is no small feat. They are good teams.

Something tells me that Sas is going to turn a defender inside out. But, what do I know. I'm thinking maybe it could be Neville. I hope I am wrong.

my apologies Turkoglu, i for one know tomorrows match will be a hard fought battle and i have the utmost respect for the turks, ( my fav goal of all time being hakan unsals wicked shot against rangers in the C-league in 99 or 2000 i forget) and nihat and ilhan will be dangerous and s.h.i.t man, hasan sas, emre , yildiray and tugay,
it will be a great game but let me get back to the spying thing
eriksson was supposedly having the players play in a different formation than his beloved 442 and he should be ticked off at the spy games, theres no need for that from turkey.

If its true I will make an assumption on this issue that Senol Gunes sucks and he does not even believe himself that he can find some good tactics that can win the game for us. I personally don't like the guy and a lot of people in Turkey don't.

But I expect Turkey to come out with a very defensive type of play as they did in the WC games with only one man in front and that would piss me and a lot of the Turks off who want to see Nihat and Ilhan play together. However time will tell. By the way the under-21 game is today I believe so lets see how that goes.

The title of this post and the person who started this thread obviously has his prejudices against Turkiye. That's his problem. If he wants to classify them as cheats then again that is his prerogative.

Turkiye have every right to be confident against England. They have world class players who are no longer playing second fiddle. The days of 8-0 are gone and those hoping or praying for such a result can dwell on history because tomorrow, Turkiye is going to throw everything at England. While the media is talking about this match as a crucial match for England's automatic bid to Euro2004, this game has even more implications and gravity for Turkiye. A win against England tomorrow will dispell any doubts people might have for the men wearing the crimson red of Turkiye. Turkiye are one of the best teams that play collective football as a unit. With Emre in the middle and possibly Nihat up front (or just as well Ilhan and Hakan) buttressed by others such as Okan, Hasan Sas, Ergun and a host of other capable players, you will all witness history made. I am confident.

    Turkiye! Ingilizerli yenin!!!
    Bastir Turkiye!!

Almo, well said. The Turks are not to be take lightly. England is probably in the top 11-20 nations in the footballing world. The Turks are also right in there, but have been improving with some of their best players now playing outside of Turkey. That does wonders for their confidence, because they know the can play with the best of other nations.

Typical half-ass retort by a loser who starts a provocative thread making baseless allegations about Turkey. I will let Turkey do the talking when they spank England in their own ground.
